The bullet-ridden bodies of three adults and two children were found inside an Albuquerque, N.M., home late Saturday, authorities confirmed today.
A teenage boy was arrested and is being charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death, according to Deputy Aaron Williamson of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.

Yes Umbarch64 could have been an accident like in N.C. gun show. In Response to Re: It's happened again: 3 Children, 2 Adults Dead in Albuquerque Shooting: Careful about this stuff. All sources are not equal and not many as conscientious as wisemagic. Until Congress does something or more likely is forced to do something, the propaganda will fly. The propaganda mill will grind out crap and truth will be abused. Thr arguments can be highly emotional......not a bad thing necessarily. Much good comes of our empathy toward our fellow beings......just be aware that feelings do not always generate good law. 'Feel good' legislation that is impossible to administer won't do it. 8:23 p.m. — It was a “horrific” crime scene that confronted deputies Saturday night: Former Calvary church Pastor Greg Griego; his wife, Sarah; and their three youngest children dead — fatally shot multiple times with a “military-style” assault rifle and other weapons — at their South Valley home. The suspect in custody is the couple’s 15-year-old son, Nehemiah Griego, who neighbors said often wore “nothing but camouflage” and wanted to be in the army. “I’ve never seen a scene quite like this,” Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston said at a news conference Sunday morning. 9:16 p.m. – Police have released the names and ages of the victims in the South Valley shooting. They are: Greg Griego, 51 http://www.abqjournal.com/main/2013/01/20/abqnewsseeker/breaking-five-dead-in-south-valley-shooting.html |

The Atlantic Wire reports the weapon used was again a AR-15 Assault Rifle. President Obama along with V.P. Biden have already stated they want to ban such Assault Rifles with high capacity magazines, but realize many Republicans and some Democrats will side with the NRA and they will have the fight of their lives to ban such weapons. The previous Assault Weapon Ban should have never been rescinded by President Bush in 2004.Response to Re: It's happened again: 3 Children, 2 Adults Dead in Albuquerque Shooting: 8:23 p.m. — It was a “horrific” crime scene that confronted deputies Saturday night: Former Calvary church Pastor Greg Griego; his wife, Sarah; and their three youngest children dead — fatally shot multiple times with a “military-style” assault rifle and other weapons — at their South Valley home. And it is just sad to think the people of this nation will continue to hold on to the right to have assault weapons, while the killing with these specific weapons just keeps increasing. I went to the white house petition site, and there are some that want no banning what so ever, and not one that does want assault weapons banned. We may not be in a government military state.... yet, but we are on a battle ground. Stay alert, you never know who or where the next shooter is going to be coming from. But he's out there. Heck of a way to have to live. Change.org does have a petition going The Government: Reenact the Federal Assault Weapons Ban and Make it Law. http://www.change.org/petitions/the-government-reenact-the-federal-assault-weapons-ban-and-make-it-law?utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=url_share&utm_campaign=url_share_before_sign |

wisemagic, there are forces that are fighting the President that are stronger than we all can imagine that include but not limited to the NRA. You and I here in Louisiana are probably the only people who support gun control. My son, daughter-in-law, friends and relatives are all members of the NRA. They all believe Obama wants to take their guns and ammo away from them. They all think it is their God given right to own guns and are blinded by the fact that if you live by the sword you die by the sword. We are not a people to being forced a law or tax or anything else on us as testament by the American Revolution and the Civil War. Not twenty, thirty or fifty percent need to accept a law but 100% although all may not agree totally. We are fortunate to be citizens of a country that hopefully comprimise can be achieved. In Response to Re: It's happened again: 3 Children, 2 Adults Dead in Albuquerque Shooting : Posted by creppelrm You are so right. I know that it may seem as though I am trying to advocate gun control, but really what I think is these assault rifles need to be classified as hand grenades. They are just way too dangerous in the wrong hands. As far as gun control go's, I think guns should be treated as cars. If you can afford one and want one, then buy it. But it should be registered, and licensed. If you sell it, then the new owner needs to go thru the background check and be cleared to make the purchase. All guns would be tracked just as cars are. If your gun is stolen, report it, just like you would your car. If you sell it to someone that is not cleared thru a background check, then YOU are responsible for any crime committed with it. If you are caught with a stolen or unregistered gun, you do 20 years in the pen. Then people can have guns, and they will have to be responsible for their guns. I don't see where this would be a violation of the 2nd amendment. The amendment needs to evolve with the times. Personally, I don't go anywhere without my gun. I use to. I use to not be worried about some crazy S.O.B. going on a shooting spree. But in today's world, I want, at least, a fighting chance. Stay Alert my friend, they are out there. |

DISTURBING The probable-cause statement describes how the teen says he shot his mother, brother and two sisters in the head with a .22-caliber rifle after midnight Saturday, then waited in a downstairs bathroom before ambushing his father with an AR-15 military-style rifle when he came home about 5 a.m. He then says he reloaded the semiautomatic weapon -- the type used in the December massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School -- and put the both rifles in the family van so "he could drive to a populated area" and shoot people randomly. The Albuquerque Journal reported Monday that he planned to go to the local Walmart. Authorities said that each victim suffered more than one gunshot wound, and that several guns were found at the scene. The teen reportedly said he retrieved the .22, the AR-15 and two shotguns from his parents' closet. Investigators were trying to determine who owned the guns. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/01/21/new-mexico-shooting-victims/1850677/ Friends, I can't stress this enough, STAY ALERT. |
