I am aware of a lot of people who I converse with on this site could definitely be feeling the affects of  Hurricane Sandy at this moment and being from South Louisiana know what you are experiencing.  With politics put aside, we are all Americans and when one of us hurt we all hurt.  If there is anything we can do we will sure do it to help.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

People, especially those of us that are retired can volunteer to help out through the Red Cross or local governments. I know NYC has a volunteer number. Clothes are needed to replace lost clothing, especially with colder weather coming to the area. It's just difficult getting around with all the fallen trees and power outages (traffic signals down).
