In my opinion today's GOP leadership are bought and paid for " Plutocrats ". I was a Republican during the President Reagan years, but that party left town, when President Bush and V.P. Cheney showed up. Corporate fat cats in the White House is bad news for 98% of America, but apparently good for the elite few.Response to Re: No HOPE: No Change for Blacks in America: This guy rants about the "savages" & "slaves" not knowing why they voted for Obama, other than he's a black man. Throughout the campaign, I tried to get Republicans to discuss why they felt Romney would be a better president. What was in Romney's campaign that made them want to get behind him for president? What issue did Romney press that they thought was right on the mark and they were all for? And all I ever got was some form of Obama is a bad man, or Obama did this or he did that. When I would push them and say not to mention anything about the current administration or Obama, stick to what Romney is saying, stick to what Romney is campaigning for, and the issues he is going to address, all I got was silence. It didn't matter how much worse Romney would be, they were voting for him no matter what. None said they thought building up the military was needed. None said they thought planned parenthood should be stopped. None said they were for the voucher plan. None said they were for starting another war with Iran. If they couldn't say something bad about Obama, they said nothing at all. Maybe they were just totally confused as to where Romney stood, with all of his flip flopping. So, when this guy says that blacks didn't know why they were voting for Obama, other than he is black; and that Obama hadn't given them anything, not even a box of saltine crackers. Was Obama supposed to give things to the blacks? I'm white, and I didn't get any crackers either. And after Romney lost, wasn't his comment about all the "gifts" Obama had given? I say 54 million Americans voted for Romney, and didn't have a clue why. Maybe they were all just die hard Republicans that vote Republican no matter who is running or what his positions happens to be on any issue. Maybe they just couldn't deal with having a black man in charge. Maybe they thought once Romney got in, he would settle down and actually take a firm stance on something other than tax cuts for the 1%. Who knows. I have a friend that works at a bank here in my home town. He is a Libertarian also, and he sent me a text the day after the election, from work, telling me how everyone there was so shocked that Romney lost and how they were all going on and on about the country is going to dissolve now because Obama was re-elected. I told him to ask the big question, What was in Romney's campaign that made them want to get behind him for president? And to leave Obama's name and the administration out of it. He sent me a text about 15 minutes later, and said, he had asked several of them. He got the same response I had been getting. None had an answer. And in the days after the election, none of them even spoke of the election anymore. Maybe they realized they didn't know why they voted for Romney, or maybe they just don't talk about it around him any more. Hard to say for sure. But, the fact remains that they could not answer the question either, without bringing up Obama. Point is, I didn't hear this guy say why HE thought Romney was the better choice either. I guess it was because Obama didn't give him anything. I don't know.
