The staggering economic inequality that has led Americans across the country to take to the streets in protest is no accident. |

In Response to Re: GOP PARTY OF THE RICH: yes, the rich got richer, the poor poorer, and tax laws help it. it isn't just GOP though Do you really think Democrats are poor? or more caring (not in words of course but in deed). They are exactly the same Posted by Astra2012 YUP everyone now is saying THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME !!! Democrats have proposed cutting payroll taxes by 3.1 percent, which could put about $1,500 back in the pockets of the average household. Republicans are supportive of the tax cut, but adamantly oppose the Democratic plan to pay for it by levying a surtax on income above $1 million. ( Meanwhile, we have these millionaries begging congress to TAX THEM MORE cause they are embarrassed by it all )
SO how is it EXACTLY the same ? NO it's not the same at all. TRUE there are some democrats that are not true to democratic policies and those are the ones that need to be GONE next election. There are some things in life.....that there can be no compromise about because it will affect the 99% for YEARS to come in a negative way. |

In Response to Re: GOP PARTY OF THE RICH: I said "they are the same" meaning that Democrats are also rich, disconnected and putting themselves first before the country. They are the same because like Rep. Democrats take millions from Wall Street and big businesses, in other words "they are bought". Did Obama take as his economic adviser CEO of GE, who had moved his plants to China? YES HE DID And all those psueudo-fights in CONGRESS for some change for American people are to make them believe someone cares for them. Not Democrats - and not Republicans! Posted by Astra2012 Astra---FIrst I want to say we don't agree on much of anything but I believe you and I have set a good example of how to debate issues which is true democracy at work. Our system is broken and we cannot blame candidates on either side for these obsene amounts necessary for campaigns and the fact there are sometimes as many as three lobbyists set upon each person in congress. I don't consider Obama perfect but he's the best we have for re-election. ....there are blue-dog democrats that need to be voted out. . How we got to this place is very complicated and I believe Chris Hedges can explain where we are at today better than I can. (Pulitzer Prize winner Chris Hedges with a huge resume, two decades as foreign a correspondent, reported from more than 50 countries, taught at Columbia--Princeton. ) HE SAID QUOTE " the top 1% in America own 37%" of all the wealth.
That the top 1% enjoy more than 20% of all the income.
That since 1979, the average income of the top 1% increased by $700,000, while the average income for the bottom 90% actually decreased by $900.
And that this has given America the fifth most unequal distribution of wealth in the entire world.
So – who made it this way? The nurses, fast-food workers, teachers, cashiers, police officers and secretaries? Or the 1 percent at the top?
They think we will all go home and accept their corporate nation, a nation where crime and government policy have become indistinguishable, where nothing in America, including the ordinary citizen, is deemed by those in power worth protecting or preserving, where corporate oligarchs awash in hundreds of millions of dollars are permitted to loot and pillage the last shreds of collective wealth, human capital and natural resources, a nation where the poor do not eat and workers do not work, a nation where the sick die and children go hungry, a nation where the consent of the governed and the voice of the people is a cruel joke.
Get back into your cages, they are telling us. Return to watching the lies, absurdities, trivia and celebrity gossip we feed you in 24-hour cycles on television. " (END QUOTE) |

I know the OCCUPY movement is here as long as we are. i don't watch news tv (I really think they are brainwashing and hypnotizing us) - now thhe best news seems to be on www.youtube.com (i type "occupy" or "ron paul" - is he is another hushed-up news i read, - then i use filter "uploaded today - and voila! Everybody (almost) has phone with video recorder or camera now! Everybody is a reportter. As to the revolution. It is inevitable. People will not be sheep anymore. But I hope for the bloodless change, not French or Russian style. Exactly what Ron Paul proposes in his book Revolution, which I'm reading now! The way I see it RON PAUL is really the only chance Americans have for bloodless revolution. Obama with his "bail-outs policy" will eventually turn all Americans against himself (even his charisma and ability to smooth-talk will not help...) and no main players on Republican side (Perry Romney Bachman Gingrich) should ever count as serious. What Ron Paul says is so common sense! See him talk about his economic plan to get out of this mess! The bloodless revolution is possible-with him leading us! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1ayIleOnio |
