What do you think about what went on at the two major political party conventions — the GOP in Tampa and Democratic in Charlotte?

Have your say ... the more often, the better.

Isaac delays the 2012 GOP national convention in Tampa.
Know the name of the hurricane that delayed the 2008 GOP event in St. Paul?

Just thinking we got hit with two that year.  Ike and Gustav.  Ike destroyed Galveston and flooded coastal Louisiana and Gustav hit us here in coastal  Louisiana flooding and wind damage.

Ok, Isaac cut off Convention Day 1. Time to get rolling.

Here are 5 great ways to tune in and take part in the proceedings.

Ann Romney, Chris Christie and Artur Davis are today's headliners, but I'm looking forward to listening to Keith Rothfus, scheduled to talk at 3 p.m. about the need to save Medicare. He's a candidate for a House seat from Pa.

(By the way, there's disagreement about the deriviation of the name "Rothfus." It's German, and might derive from "rot fus" or "red foot," a nickname for someone who followed the fashion for shoes made from a type of fine reddish leather, or a variant of "Rotfuchs," from the Middle Low German form fos ‘fox,’ a nickname for a clever person. Maybe we'll find out today.)

I'm always interested in hearing the candidates' spouses speak, so I'll look forward to Ann Romney's speech tonight.

It will be interesting to see which story dominates the networks: The hurricane or the convention speeches?   I hope that people tune to the candidate in since this is such an important election, but I fear that they'd rather watch footage from storm chasers.

As a long-time New Jersey resident, I will be eagerly watching Gov. Chris Christie.  He's quite an engaging speaker.  Total Jersey guy!

At the 2008 GOP convention in Minneapolis, Hurricane Gustav's threat to New Orleans put the kabosh on Day 1 activities and an appearance by President Bush. But First Lady Laura Bush got a very warm reception when she appeared.

Not sure that Christie agrees with you: Republican, father, son, husband, brother ... no self-identified Total Jersey Guy.

I'm very curious to see which story line on Medicare is most convincing to voters. Will the Obama campaign win retirement-age and near retirement age by attacking Romney-Ryan over the news plans for Medicare? Or does Romney's contention that their plan ``saves'' Medicare in the long-term become the winning argument?
