In what has been described as a searing speech, President Barack Obama charged that the GOP budget would end Medicare "as we know it," and included GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney in his criticisms. In Response to Re: GOP BUDGET A TROJAN HORSE: Obamacare cuts $500 Billion from Medicare. It also sets up unelected panels that decide what medical treatments and diagnostics are to be used. Basically, medical care, especially for seniors will be rationed. Posted by Labrat64 I cannot think of who said it, but when they were talking about current cuts to Medicare, a person replied that so far only Obama has done that. I know this is not the quote but it helps to point out how he is misleading us. |

Hey, a welfare state here is better than welfare states of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan like W. and his buddy Cheney were doing. If I remember correctly that is what got us in trouble in the first place. It wasn't taking care of our own. That's the trouble with Republicans they think their biggest enemy are their own people for one reason or another. As I said welfare hasn't gotten this country in trouble it was Wall Street corruption and the politicians that supported them. Funny these Republicans never blame themselves. They know what W. did but just don't mention his name anymore. They know what Wall Street has done but deny any association with them but give them tax breaks etc. But the real scapgoats are the poor, disabled and the elderly. You see no one writes for them, they can't afford to contribute to campaigns. Easy targets, put all the blame to them. Fits just right into the philosophy of the Tea Party that thrive on this type of hatred. n Response to Re: GOP BUDGET A TROJAN HORSE: Part of the joke here, is that Obama is already cutting medicare since he cuts money from medicare to support a plan that will bankrupt America. He is also the one who gave tax breaks by cutting the social security tax. Me thinks there is something wrong with the president's thinking. We need a balance, but it is not coming from the president, since we will all pay for the WELFARE state he is establishing. Posted by JimR45 |

Why didn't you mention USSR and Nazi Germany because we are better than them also. The current administration inherited problems but he has made them worse. More people are poor, more unemployed. national debt is thru the roof. Some of his current solutions are to cut social security tax to give people a tax break - what a moronic idea that was, as he did not have the senior citizens in mind when he did that but threw out money to the masses who did not realize what he was doing. Now he has a health bill where he is going to steal from medicare to pay for a program which will cause even more debt and take from retirees who are on fixed incomes. This is another slight of hand where he takes from a group (old people) to pay for a program where he is trying to dictate to everyone what they might have. They call them entitlement programs but medicare and social security are two programs where people were taxed to protect them in retirement, but this president is playing games with both. He is an arrogant person who is concerned about winning a presidency by buying his way into office. He can have his change back and based upon his performance I think it should be a couple of pennies which is all the change he is worth. |

Careful what you say, one day you may have no money and see if a Republican will give you a hand. In Response to Re: GOP BUDGET A TROJAN HORSE: We cannot afford the type of health care he has proposed. I brought up those to other socialist nations, one Nazi and one communist, because it made as much sense as your bringing them up, Your further comment adds nothing more. You are still blaming Bush for everything in Obama's last term also, but you forgot to mention the price of gas. Was it not Obama's idea to take away from social security and medicare, while he proposes a plan will bankrupt America. The first thing that needs to occur is to get medical costs under control. Part of his plan to make money was to get rid of abuses to save billions, yet I do not see any of that. I disagree with those who try to stop changes that would bring in more tax money, but I think much of that can be done by taking away loop holes that many abuse. It is easy to become popular by promising everyone something for nothing, thank you Obama. It is a fool who believes it. It is a shame so many were mislead by him on his platform of change which is meaningless. Now that you know what he is doing do not be a fool and vote him into office for a second term. I am on Medicare and expect to be going on Social security in the near future and I do not want this man taking my money. Posted by JimR45 |
