The Senate and Congress think we are all idiots! It is obvious to everyone the gas companies ar engaged in price fixing and experience record breaking profits, yet our government does nothing to protect we the citizens. Now, the latest price hikes are directly related to this pipeline they want at our expense. Please tell your Congressman and Senators we don't want or need this pipeline. We want them to stop the gas companies price fixing and retaliation and we want their illegal profiteering busted! Stop these ridiculous new acts and stop any further shale production. We can't let them continue to ruin our environment for their profits! Tell AARP to support us to stop the gas companies! |

I always read post like this with a sadness and concern about how little knowledge is known about what goes on in the Congress and the Presidency.Although some truths, no one EVER mentions the obvious. Why, I assume it's cowardice of the Big Bad Tea Bag Republican who might critcize us for using facts and truths! One, this President has allowed increased oil production well over Bush's time in office, in spite of Republican lies to the contrary! Two, Senate Republicans have filibistered to stop all efforts to stop tax payer subsidies to big oil, inspite of obscene oil profits. Three, these same Republicans in the Senate and House have prevented ANY regulation of speculators on Wall Street, to prevent them running up gas prices for their own profits. Four, if your vote or lack there of, put these Tea-baggers in control of the House in 2010, than you have no one to blame but yourself, and unless you work to re-elect this President and return control of the Congress to the Democrats in 2012, you have to realize nothing will change, and this country will return to the Republican Tea-bagger program of the rich getting richer, the middle class getting poorer, with higher unemployment and economic collapse! Finally, AARP is not the problem, but many seniors are! They take pride in being a Republican Tea-bagger, ranting against government, afraid of young students, ignorant of attacks on their health care and believing that attacks on womens health care, civil rights, voting rights, etc., somehow doesn't effect them. They have NO problem with public job losses, because they no longer care about public education, teachers or union jobs. They want to believe they got where they are by themselves, and if they have SS or Medicare why care about anyone else? |

Posted by ceceliam If they are idiots, what bothers me is that we voted them into office. Blame is many times placed on speculators driven by various issues. What I want is a bifpartisan group to investigate who are the ones buying the oil at these rediculous prices. Follow the money and we may find a market manipulated and by whom. Are any of the people connected directly or indirectly wirh the oil companies. Their profits can go up as the prices escalate. Now the problem mentioned is Iran, but what was it last time.
