I agree with Josh Tolley. Most Americans have already fallen off it-now the rich are scared of it and they use their media to scare us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pR8lSgCWyYI&feature=g-all

Obama is seeking to raise income tax rates on individuals earning $200,000 or more a year and married couples earning $250,000 and more annually, while Republicans say any increase in tax revenues can only come from limiting deductions and other breaks. Obama said the Republican approach can’t raise enough money without adding to the tax burden of middle-class families.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-04/obama-says-republican-fiscal-cliff-offer-doesn-t-go-far-enough.html

This is good stuff, Romney was going to give everyone a "so called" 20% tax cut, and cut Capital Gaines, and, eliminate Estate Tax. As you can see, his plan to take in less tax money wouldn't work for anyone. ( I'm not surprised )

John Boehner calls for cuts to entitlement programs such as Medicare health insurance for the elderly. ( Typical Republican way....take from the elderly or middle class, but never from the wealthy )

With Boehner, Medicare gets cut and the middle class gets a tax increase, and loss of deductions and other tax breaks..
With Obama, the wealthy, get a tax increase.

The Republican Party, once again, proves that they are the party for the wealthy.

Here's an idea, why not cut military spending, and get the heck out of Afghanistan. We spend 3.6 billion a month in Afghanistan. That is 43.2 billion a year. And for what? Training the Afghan military? Like the Taliban isn't just waiting for us to leave so they can over throw the government and return to the way it was before we invaded.

We spend 700 billion +, a year on defense. The country that spends the most after us is China, at roughly 150 billion.

Why not cut defense spending down to 200 billion? That would save 500 Billion a year. And get out of Afghanistan, and save another 43 Billion a year.

The world's top 7 military spenders in 2012.
Figures sourced from the SIPRI Yearbook 2012.

Obama asked for the debit ceiling to be raised. Of course, Republicans bulked at the idea.
Too bad they didn't feel that way when Bush was President.......:

John Boehner and Mitch McConnell voted without hesitation to pass raising the Debt ceiling even stating that they hope this passed unanimously, when Bush was in office.

Years the Republicans voted to raise the Debt Ceiling Bush signed into law.

2002 350 Billion in tax cut to Big business and 450 Billion Debt Ceiling increase.
2003 450 Billion in tax cuts to Big Business and 900 Billion Debt Ceiling increase.
2004 600 Billion in tax Cuts to Big business and 800 Billion Debt Ceiling Increase.
2006 670 Billion in Tax cuts to Big Business and 781 Billion Debt Ceiling Increase.
2007 700 Billion tax cuts for Big Business and 850 Billion Debt Ceiling Increase.
2008 450 Billion tax Cuts to Big Business.

Total 3.2 Trillion to Big Business 4 Trillion Debt Ceiling increases under Bush.

Total 7.2 Trillion in the Red for the next president coming in 2009.

Two wars for 8 years Bush was in office cost another 4.1 trillion.

It's OK for the Republicans to do it, but God forbid a Democrat ask for the same thing.
Of course, Republicans want to blame Obama, and Democrats want to blame Bush for the countries problems.

If Republicans get their way, Medicare will get cut, and the middle class will get a tax increase, but the wealthy, .... untouched.

The Bush tax cuts were designed to expire. And the time has come.

They could save a lot more money by paying politicians minimum wage. They are almost worth that much, since logic happens to be their biggest handicap.

Obama needs to stand firm, and let the Bush tax cuts expire.

The problem with the Republicans is they are leaderless. Boenner can't rally the troops. Norquest who started this whole mess with a pledge to him from other lawmakers not to raise taxes is in a cornor really not saying much. The tea party are a bunch of idiots. The best thing the President can do is stand firm regardless. It's time the rich pay their fair share. Once the door is knocked down on these Republican lawmakers the whole house they made of playing cards will fall.

Thats why we all have to keep pressure on our elected representatives, by telling them to end the Bush tax cuts and leave Social Security and Medicare alone. Our society needs fairness and compassion, especially for our seniors and disabled, not more greed at the top. Response to Re: About fiscal cliff:

Meanwhile Obama sends troops to Syria which costs billions of OUR MONEY.
i don't believe anyone of NORMAL American people wants that.

of course Romney would do that too. After all the president is just a puppet and WE, THE PEOPLE have nothing to say, just pay and send kids to die. And somehow some believe it's alright, fighting about not billions wasted by our government, not that we shouldn't have to pay that much, but that we should pay more.

Going to Syria to save human lives from chemical warfare is alot different than invading Iraq, losing thousands of soldiers, killing 100,000 innocent civilians, spending Trillions of dollars, after being misled with " Weapons of Mass Deception" from our leaders. Response to Re: About fiscal cliff:

I got these figures from a Fox News site, so..... reliability may be a little off.

New Year's headache

Partly by fate, partly by design, some scary fiscal forces come together at the start of 2013 unless Congress and Obama act to stop them. They include:

— Some $536 billion in tax increases, touching nearly all Americans, because various federal tax cuts and breaks expire at year's end.

— About $110 billion in spending cuts divided equally between the military and most other federal departments. That's about 8% of their annual budgets, 9% for the Pentagon.

Now, If they would just switch the numbers, it would be a lot easier for us all.....
