CNN along with several reliable sources such as the Congressional Budget Office report that Romney's campaign ad stating " President Obama quietly ended the work requirement for welfare recipients " is an outright lie.  Five state governors, including Republicans, asked for extension waivers to meet the 20% return to work requirement with current welfare recipients.
President Obama granted those waivers as a bi-partisan gesture  with a promise from the Governors that they would meet the 20% return to work goal or meet penalties. An example of bi-partisan cooperation and Romney lies about it to try and destroy President Obama's reputation.
Romney's false attack ads are getting real old and doesn't the truth matter anymore. Romney, the devout Mormon, and Ryan, the devout Catholic, sure do have a habit of lying an awful lot on their campaign trail.

I suggest you read the following by someone who helped draft the work requirements in the 1996 law, and who disputes the fact-checkers:

I've already done research through non partisan sources and Romney's ad is false. If you search long enough you'll find a source with an agenda like the totally fictional film 2016. The hatred for Obama from the neo con right wing is sickening and whether you agree with Obama or not, he is still our President and deserves a certain level of respect. n Response to Re: Fact Check : Romney's Welfare Claims Wrong:
