In Response to Re: Election 2012 Debate Season:
Ryan probably should have brought his wife, Janna, who has worked for years as a Private Healthcare Lobbyist in Wash. D.C. She has been lobbying for 3 of the largest Private Healthcare Companies in an attempt to dismantle Medicare and turn it into a Voucher System. The couple has a convenient connection to accomplish just that, at our expense unfortunately, because the Voucher system will be our death sentence. It reminds me of the Cheney - Halliburton connection and that sure worked out well for them, but not us.Response to Re: Election 2012 Debate Season :

There is not one encouraging note about Romney and Ryan  (both.) .... that could drive a voter who understands the issues and the backgrounds of these men. to vote for them.

Jan, The thing that scares me the most is that some people are blinded by the hate filled lies and propaganda that the Right Wing Republicans have put out there against President Obama ( like the fictional 2016 Obama movie ) and If they fall for those smoke screens, they wont know what hit them, until their Medicare and S.S. is dismantled. Just give the Corporate Billionaire controlled Republicans the power and CEO's will be calling the shots.
Once the smoke settles we wont be able to afford our own healthcare with the Voucher system and the cuts in Social Security will be next. Its amazing how the Right Wing Republicans think that 2% of America should control and call the shots for the remaining 98%.  Response to Re: Election 2012 Debate Season:

In Response to Re: Election 2012 Debate Season:
I just read  A. Barry Rand's editorial in the current bulletin.  Had to laugh out loud when he states AARP is "non-partisan".  This organization is so liberal I can hardly read most of your articles.  I know folks who won't become members because of your bias.  But they are like people who refuse to watch Fox News because they think they are so bias.  I am not that bad, I do attempt to watch other net works because I want to see both sides.  We have Democratic ads on our local radio station that are absolute lies concerning the Republican candidates and their views on Medicare and Social Security.  The Republicans want to improve the system, not eliminate it.  If that is not done, we won't have these in the future period.  And if the Democrats get elected, we won;t have the United State we have known in the past.  I suggest that AARP wake up and truly become a non-partisan organization that is fair and balanced not like MSNBC commentators such as Chris Matthews, Al sharpten, and Rachael what's her name.  Sincerely,  Gregg Mullins, Bonita Springs, FL

Romney a successful businessman, maybe in your eyes, but not in the thousands of American workers eyes, whose jobs, pensions and healthcare were sent to Communist China. Romney and his corporate pirates paid themselves " Special Dividends " in the hundreds of millions and then hid them in overseas accounts to avoid paying his fair share of taxes.
Now Romney says he will stop Communist China and get tough with them, sure after he's made hundreds of millions firing our workers and having our products made for pennies in Communist China sweatshops, so CEO's, like Romney, could hoard millions more.
What happened to those Americans, who lost their jobs and pensions, well the taxpayers paid for 50% of their pensions with the " Pension Guarantee Program ". Romney was ok with big government in that case, but you didn't see Romney give up any of his hundreds of millions in " Special Dividends " to help out with our worker's lost pensions, when Romney fired them.
Good for greedy CEO's, but bad for our economy. Go to "WHENMITTROMNEYCAMETOTOWN.COM " and you will see the real Mitt. By the way that video was made by a challenging Republican candidate named Newt Gingrich. Romney punches our workers in the gut and now has the guts to ask for our vote.Response to Re: Election 2012 Debate Season:

In Response to Election 2012 Debate Season : All political parties should be allowed in the debates. Give 100% of the voters 100% option to vote for who ever they want. Let all the candidates be heard. The Republican/Democrat Merrie-go-round that we go through every 4 years is a joke. Only thing that changes is the names of the players. We need fresh thinking in DC. Gary Johnson, Libertarian Party Candidate, has a more impressive record as 2-Term Governor, than Romney. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/10/11/let-gary-johnson-debate/

Wisemagic, Do you like the selection of Larry King to moderate the debate where many of the presidential candidates will participate without Obama and Romney ?

It doesn't matter who moderates. The point is, Gary should have been in all of the debates. This is supposed to be a democracy, but not all candidates or parties are heard.

Business is NOT Government.  Government is NOT Business.  Each has tasks and obligations unique to itself and should not be mixed together.  Think about it.  Each can help the other to succeed.....and can cause the other to fail.

Sooooooo............how come there is not more cooperation between these entities?  Could it be that the motives of one does not really serve the well-being of All, but seeks to accumulate advantage for the Few?  Give it some serious thought before you succumb to 'convenient' half-truths at the expense of the future.

Umbarch,  I'm reading between your lines. To me it's about whats best for most Americans, not just the top of the scale. In my lifetime, this is probably the most important election for the lower and middle class regarding being able to survive with dignity. Response to Re: Election 2012 Debate Season:

Reasons why I am choosing Romney:   1. He will not borrow money(716 bil) from medicare, as Obama did!   2. His tax policy benefits everyone and creates jobs!   .
Posted by dlc86

1st, Romneys medicare plan will double our cost. 2nd, so far nobody can get his tax plan to work without a tax increase on.... guess who.... the working class.

Romney Plans 15 Navy Ships Built Yearly in First Term, Aide Says

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-10-11/romney-plans-15-navy-ships-built-yearly-in-first-term-aide-says.html

Who in the hell is paying 53.3 billion for new ships?
And why the hell do we need 15 new ships to fight land locked middle east countries?
Why the hell do we need to fight anyone?
This is the Conservative Party?
Is this guys name Romney or Hitler?
What the hell is up with the "no, we are not leaving Afghanistan", and now a severe military build up?

I'll bet anyone... anyone, Mitt has investments in the companies building these ships.
The military isn't asking for these ships. Why is Mitt spending all this money, and guess where it's coming from.... working man.

The Ryan plan means MAJOR changes to Medicare.  It would eliminate the Medicare guarantee and turn it into a voucher program.  Studies have shown the Ryan plan would cost anyone under 55 years of age an additional $6,000 a year with a slow increase to $12,000 extra out of pocket in later years, and it moves eligibility for seniors to get Medicare from 65 to 67. Of course, he hasn't got a plan to get 20 million people back to work, to rob them of the $6000.

".....because the Ryan plan will literally lead to people dying"

http://tinyurl.com/95egjd9

There is the Romney/Ryan logic.... increase the cost, delay giving the benefits. That way, some will die before the government has to give you back any of YOUR money you already paid to Medicare. Along with the Republicrats plan to move the retirement age to 69, so many will die before ever getting any of the SSI money YOU paid in.
But that's OK. Because while adding additional cost to health care, and working people till they die on the job, you get to pay the taxes for the rich, once Romney lets them off the hook.

You can forget government "creating jobs". A stong economy creats jobs.
Fact is, wall street does better under Democrats, than republicans.

Mitt Romney leads a party packed with paranoids and fabulists.

Stock Market Has Performed Much Better Under Democrats Than Republicans Since 1929

It basically boils down a campaign slogan that says:
“Mitt Romney: He sucks a little less than the other guy.” ( But not much less )
