Here in New Orleans with one of the highest murder rates in the country, there is gang violence with gang member killing gang member.  It rarely spills out into the general public.  But the killers like the school shooters are young people who don't have criminal records,  plan their attack well because they are smart, and usually have a sound family background or at least it seems that way.  Gang members are easy to reform, we just don't put any effort in helping these young people who are generally good with a helping hand.  But the mass shooters are something more complex and come from families that you would think were normal but underlying  there are serious problems in the family, especailly for that particular kid.  Our gun culture don't the least bit help with it's arrogance and egos.

In Response to Re: A Doomsday Scenario : That was exactly my point. We the people wouldn't stand a chance against the forces. But most that do not want gun control, use the 2nd as their excuse. People complain about gang violence, but they won't let anyone take their guns away from gangs. Not wanting some kind of gun control is just wanting violence gun crime and mass slaughter to continue.

(hey wisemagic, have fun wherever you are! I'm thinking about leaving the country too)

Jan, you are definitely one of the majority of Americans who believe that WE, THE PEOPLE govern this country.
Mainstream media are making sure you believe that.

Also military and cops serve the government, not WE, THE PEOPLE--like in Nazi Germany.
but we have the constiution and rights that our presidents swore to defend.... And then signed Patriot Act, NDAA, killed Americans without trial....
our presidents do not keep their oaths.
"we, the people" haha. You get real!

Astra, I resent that statement comparing our Police to Nazi Germany. What personal experience or knowledge do you have regarding our Police ? You should be ashamed of yourself for attacking our brothers and sisters in blue, who put their lives on the line to protect us. Response to Re: A Doomsday Scenario:

all I said was that POLICE/MILITARY SERVE THE GOVERNMENT - they have to follow orders of the commander-in-chief i never said our police behaves like Germans at that time. Do not put words in my mouth.

the government in Nazi Germany was democratically elected and German police and military had to follow its orders.

Yeah right, That video represents all police, just like the  Rodney King beating did. Astra,  you accuse me of being led by the media ???  Look in the mirror, my friend. Lets try to keep things in perspective and I'm not your enemy. I respect your opinion, but dont always agree with it, especially lately. I wish you the best, just like so many others with differing views. I'm just glad to live in a democracy. We dont have any Hitlers, so its silly to even compare Nazi Germany with our government. Our men & women in blue would never follow such a leader, if we did, trust me.Response to Re: A Doomsday Scenario:

no, this video certainly doesn't represent all police. I would even say it represents only a small fraction. Still, it all happened.

no, I do not ACCUSE you of anything --I think you are a good person who believes that everyone is good and honest. Here we differ. I suspect there are evil people on earth.I suspect they own mainstream news and manipulate people. And I'm afraid they are willing to have people killed to do what they want to do.I have Iraq war for one of the proofs

we will NEVER have tyranny -- many cops/military formed "oath keepers" org for people why take their oath (to defend constitution) seriously. Many sheriffs refuse to EVER follow unconstitutional order.they would never ever follow anyone like Hitler=I'm sure about that!
