IFunny I'd describe crony capatilism as the $525Million of taxpayer money that was given to obama bundler Kaiser's Solyndra. What about the fact that JP Morgan Chase is being investigated by the FBI for making what amounts to a bad trade, while MF Global and Obama buddy Corzine is not investigated even though what he did amounts to out and out theft of client funds.? Response to Crony Capitalism spells R-O-M-N-E-Y: Romney will take credit for all the jobs allegedly created by companies that managed to survive in spite of his tactics...even when the "hirings" took place years after he left Bain. BUT then he claims that he should NOT be blamed for the demise of companies that succumbed to the crushing under that debt HE heaped upon them because the bankruptcies were filed after he left Bain. How can he expect to have it both ways? Romney claim s to be the " turn around" expert . And often cite the Olympics and his work at Bain as examples. Yet fails to mention that many of your successes (including the Olympics) were largely contingent upon obtaining subsidies and earmarks from the federal, state and local governments. In addition, there were incidencugh he out and out used client funds for es in which the displaced workers (the people he likes to fire who are providing services) had to be supported by federal programs (like the federal pension benefit guarantee programs). How can Romney claim to be the defender of free market capitalism and to be a shining example of the system, when he garnered a significant portion of his wealth from sweet insider (government) deals that are not available to the average small businessman? Doesn't his behavior more closely resemble the crony capitalism that the GOP colleagues often accuse Obama of perpetrating? Posted by JANMB |

Bush Administration. As far as Chase is concerned.... the GOP has a DEREGULATION OBSESSION and even Greenspan couldn't convince them how bad not having a referee is. The House GOP jobs plan, introduced by Speaker John Boehner, had familiar themes: tax cuts and deregulation. Well they had 8 years and now have had the HOUSE for a couple years and all they've done is said NO to anything the economists have suggested......they take their advice from Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck. |

The loan guarantee to Solyndra was TURNED DOWN by the Bush administration. The sticking point is not the House, but the democrat controlled senate.
