Some of you have confused me with the rhetoric I'm hearing and reading and I need your help to understand your standings: ObamaCare is cutting $500 billion from MediCare, but your mad at republicans for saying medicare standards should be reviewed? I've spoken with 3-doctors that are withdrawing their pracrices from medicare cases because of ObamaCare conditions. The past three decades, the professional politicians in Washington created this disasterous mess to the nation's economy, but you're mad at the Tea Party people that have only been in Washington for six months? In January USA was paying $.40 to borrow $1.00; in July paying $.42 per $1.00; who knows how much now; and you're mad at tea party/republicans for saying - we can't afford this much borrowing for more spending? I couldn't justify a AAA rating to anyone dumb enough to pay those type rates; even loan sharks are envious of those rates being legal. Obama has done more to shut down employment than any american in our history and prostituted this nation to AFL-CIO and union thugs, but you're mad at the tea party. Again, I need your help to understand how I'm missing your point of view.

I think you hit the nail on the head Larry. I don't understand how people are sooo gullable and just plain ignorant to what is happening to this country, it's like the pied piper leading us to our doom! GREED is running us now and those who can afford to live in this economy have thier blinders on to what's really happening.

You don't understand finance. You are confusing borrowing with spending--two totally different things. Interest rates are at historic *lows*. So, it is smart to borrow when rates are low--right?

And the AAA cut was NOT due to borrowing. It was due to the Tea Party thinking default was an acceptable option. THAT scares the crap out of investors--and S&P reacted to it.

The reforms being advanced by the White House and Congress would:
  • Make "gender rating" illegal.   **
  • Prevent insurance companies from denying care on the basis of pre-existing conditions.
  • End "rescission," or the insurance industry practice of canceling someone's coverage when they get sick.
  • Set limits on out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Provide competition and choice for women in the individual insurance market.
The change we are fighting for today will impact women - and their families - for generations to come. ( NOW) Nat'l Organization of Women. --CARE2.com
**  Women have paid up to 48 percent more for private health insurance than men for the same policies.     Insurers also routinely deny coverage to women with "pre-existing conditions" - which include pregnancy, c-sections, and in some cases, domestic violence and even rape.

DON"T BE FOOLED BY RHETORIC--- THIS COUNTRY CAN AFFORD ANYTHING IT CHOSES TO AFFORD.   SOME IN DC PREFER TO SPEND MONEY ON WARS FOR PROFITEERING INSTEAD OF FOR THE PEOPLE.
Almost no Americans can now remember what it was like to be 65 or older before Medicare began in 1966. “In those days,”       insurance companies wouldn’t insure seniors because they were considered bad risks, so millions had no health coverage and often faced financial ruin if they became very sick.” In other words, the same predicament as millions of people under 65 face now and that's why REFORM is necessary.
.

Today, older Americans on Medicare “have an incredibly valuable security blanket,” says Joe Baker, president of the www.medicarerights.org/" rel="nofollow">Medicare Rights Center,   a nonprofit advocacy and help group. “So once you start rocking that boat, they react viscerally. But I think if you don’t scare them, seniors view reform more positively.     They’d love for their children and grandchildren to have the same sense of security that they have now.”
