In Response to CNN Anchor Slammed Over Twisting of Obama Statement on Libya: It's no doubt that the Republicans are trying to make Libya a huge stain on the Obama administration. They're trying to cover up Romney's exploitation of workers, the outsourcing of jobs and off shoring of his money. Do they really believe that most Americans care about this? We're so tired after a decade of wars that any mention of the Middle East is met with frustration. Libya is an unstable country, so why is it a surprise that Islamics attacked our embassy? We've spent a decade in 2 wars and look at the instability and violence there. It amazes me how the Republicans never mentioned about Bush's failed mission to investigate all the reports back in mid 2001 about Al Qaeda planning a massive attack on us. Did he rush to DC? No, he remained on his ranch to finish his vacation.

gymdandee, In 2010 President Obama requested over $300 million in funds to secure our Embassys, but the Republicans in Congress cut $128 million from that request and now the Republicans want to blame President Obama. Utah Republican Congressman Chaffetz said " We have to prioritize ".and cut funding , but of course now its Obama's fault that 4 Americans died at those Embassys that Obama wanted secured. The blame should fall on the Republicans in Congress, who denied funding to secure the Embassys. When does the truth matter ? In 2010 the Republican leadership in Congress said priority #1 is to deny Obama a second term, so for the last 2 years the Republicans in Congress have done nothing. There were several budget sources available to fund Embassy security. Funds were never an issue. The Benghazi consulate was recognized as being in danger. The British closed thir consulate. The Red Cross left. Why was our consulate guarded by a British contract firm that used locals "armed' with flashlights and clubs??? Also why did obama lie about the attack, blaming it on the video at the UN and on other occasions for 2 weeks. This is a cover-up!!! He didn't lie about anything. He reported from the White House the next morning and said the Terrorists responsible will be held accountable. Since when does lack of funding for security not matter. You know that funds were never an issue ? You must work for the Pentagon. I stand by what I said. I listened to the transcript. He did not address it as a terrorist act in the Rose Garden speech. He promply left to Las vegas on another fundraiser. At the UN 6 days later, he apologised to the entire islamic world for the video. Susan Rice out and out lied even though it was known that this was a terrorist attack. Funds available are fungible.
