BEWARE of HERMAN CAIN! and his 999 PLAN!!!! Just listened to him on interview with CNN. His proposed change to the income and sales taxes would cause an extreme hardship on anyone on fixed income. He proposes a 9% sales tax on EVERYTHING -no exceptions. This is in addition to local and state sales taxes, you will be paying 16-18% sales tax on EVERYTHING! If you are still working he would reduce your income tax to 9% this is good if you are making 40k or better but if you are on low income and dont pay a high income tax now, YOU WILL in the form of sales tax. He has shown his elitist true self, he is FOR THE RICH ONLY!!! He says if you are not rich then its your fault.!! He says poor people should buy used goods to balance out the tax, how do you buy "used" food?  He also says the wall street protesters are wrong, ?? That corporate America deserves these high profits. Please DO NOT VOTE FOR HIM!!!!!!

Every concerned citizen must go to Herman Cain’s website and seriously study his 999 plan specific details. His ultimate goal is obvious:Shift the tax burden to all lower and middle classes.Everyone, except for the wealthy, will have an unfair and excessive tax obligation.

To make my point, for 2010 my 88 year old mother’s income and federal taxes were based on $12,000 social security(before deducting Medicare part B premiums, Medicare part B supplement plan and Part D plan) and $8,000 other taxable income. After applying the social security deduction, standard deduction and personal exemption her tax bill was ZERO,”0”.

Under Cain’s plan she would pay 9% income tax on her gross income of $20,000.The above deductions and exemptions are not mentioned in Cain’s plan. Also, since she must spend all of her income, she would pay another 9% consumption tax on $20,000.

Her total tax bill:$3,600!Too bad all her income wasn’t from capital gains, because her tax bill would have been ZERO.Warren Buffet’s secretary is really going to be raising Cain now!

Since my mother is retired, she no longer pays payroll taxes.Under Cain’s plan, thesetaxesthat supports social security, Medicare and Medicaid are somehow embedded into the 999 plan. What are the accounting and accountability plans for this money?

How about considering a plan similar to the Bowles-Simpson plan, it’s a fair plan for everyone. If the government wants to experiment with a national consumption sales tax to increase revenue, a 5% national sales tax could be added to this plan. This would ensure that almost everyone pays taxes and contributes to our country. However, lowincomepeople, like my mother, should receive a 5% income tax credit rebate on their end of year federal tax return.Mr. Cain says his smoke and mirror999 plan is revenue neutral.Has he accounted for the current 40% revenue shortfall?

Additional suggestions:The upfront tax deductible contribution traditional IRA should be eliminated and replaced entirely with the current Roth IRA.All income, including interest, dividends and capitalgainsshouldbe taxed at the applicable individual tax rate.

Sales tax on bread and milk......  get rid of social security and medicare  ENTIRELY.     He sounds like a true conservative who has all the building blocks for creating  an aristocratic society.
The protestors know who really stole the wealth in this country. These corporations and their rich who run them actually want to have many unemployed and desperate people who will not salary negotiate and so work cheaper.      They get the cream of the crop CHEAP.
They are greedy egotistical schmucks,   who puff their own hat for "philanthropy" donating to those "charity folks" they helped to create.

It's even worse than that! What about the dollars
in your retirement savings account that you have PAID TAXES ON ALREADY , and now you will pay a 9% tax again on that money when you spend it.  If you are not working you will not get the benefit of reduced payroll taxes.I thought my savings would be spent tax free except for local sales tax.

What do you think of Ron Paul then?
He always voted that there should  be no tax on Soc.Sec.benefits.        as president he would take only average american income (now 39K) and he would end all income taxes (no IRS!).

he promises more goodies (and his record shows he keeps his promises!) like ending all wars (our kids come home!.

Ron Paul wants to eliminate the IRS and the income tax    but that doesn’t mean they’re realistic ideas.  Why not just say everyone should work for no money or revenue   at all...and thereby  have no monied   expenses either.   Everything FREE. no money exchanges necessary because we could go to bartering like the earlier centuries ---like the 1300's.  .

IMO    Ron Paul  would only  greaten the divide between the poor and the rich, which is already overwhelming .     By the way, he also wants to eliminate the departments of education, energy, homeland security, and emergency management.

The ONLY thing RON makes sense on is regarding wars.....but that one thing isn't enough to vote him in on because we have many in congress who are for that who would have a vote on it.

Besides I'm a woman and Ron Paul is no-supporter of women's issues at all.   NAUGHT !!

Actually,  the only real- intelligent person is Hutchins and if he didn't take on the same retorek as the other's about TAXES TAXES TAXES up the ying-yang .....  and of course even if he felt differently,  the entire  GOP finds it difficult to break tradition and stand up for what they truly believe in ....that isn't the conservative viewpoint.

we have this discussion somewhere else
but how would he greaten that divide? Bc of income taxes which are not fair anyway (Warren Buffet pays 17%, his secretary 36$)?

About WOMEN ISSUES
Ron Paul believes it is none of government business to decide what  I do with my body---and I agree!

yeah, it is scary that we might have to take responsibility for ourselves instead of dropping it on government...
