Amb. Stevens stated that he didn't feel safe there, but was classified as a whiner. The obama foreign ploicy revolves around being able to say that Al Qaeda has been defeated. Admitting that a consulate is not safe would show that this policy isn't working. The Fort Hood massacre was just a disgrntled employee. The two army recruiters killed in Arkansas were not terrorist related. There are no terrorist activities in the US. It's all a Republican lie, according to obama and holder. Response to Re: The Benghazi Situation: If anyone would know of the security situation, it would have been the Ambassador, that's who the President gets info on the situation there. The Ambassador was a big boy, he knew the threat better than anyone. Just another political ploy by the Republicans. A lot worse has happened in the past causing numerous casualties and Not a Republican squeaked. In Response to Re: The Benghazi Situation : Posted by creppelrm |

The Ambassador is in a country that is in a state of war. There is no govt., no police force to say, no nothing. Loyal forces to Quadaffi are still out and killing people. And you are trying to blame the President on this? It may be a different story if the Ambassador to Canada was assassinated but Republicans are hollering about the force we used in Libya already and now we didn't have enough. NO way to please you. Besides info to the state department usually flows from the Embassy. The Ambassador had enough leverage to get out if he deemed it too bad. It was his call. The point is he asked for additional security and was refused. Now, we find the obama State Department throwing the CIA under the bus. Maybe that's because Republicans would have looked at that as a expensive military buildup that you said yourself was expensive. Flipp Flopping? And now you are saying something else. And what you think was needed a division of the 101st? Terrorist have attacked divisions also. All the Ambassador had to do was get out! He had that option. Go Figure. Laurence Pope will be the senior envoy in Tripoli until a new Ambassador to take Stevens place is selected. Tripoli and Benghazi are cities in Libya with Tripoli being the capitol. Pope was recalled from retirement to administer the post. He is former Ambassador to Chad. Tripoli is where the Embassy is located but Tripoli was one of the last cities to fall in the Civil War. Below is what really caused the lack of security from the debate last night and a fact check. Even the GOP confirms. Biden: "The congressman here (Paul Ryan) cut embassy security in his budget by $300 million below what we asked for." The facts: According to Democratic House Oversight Committee staff, the amount that the GOP-led House passed for two accounts that pay for embassy security in fiscal 2012 ($2.311 billion) was $330 million less than the Obama administration had requested ($2.641 billion). A GOP House Appropriations Committee aide confirmed the House bill had less in these accounts than what the administration requested scurity there. What worries me now is that I heArd there is no American embassy in Benghazi - but in Tripoli...is it true? if so where was he killed? Posted by Astra2012 |

In Response to The Benghazi Situation: It's unfortunate that we lost 4 lives, but where is the outcry when we've lost 7,000 Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq? These are wars that are still going on that were based on fear-mongering.

Yes we did and the Administration for 9/11 didn't prevent it. But I can't really blame W. for what happened in our own country as you are blaming our president for what happened in another country. There is more to play than just one man making every decision for this country. In Response to Re: The Benghazi Situation: We lost 3000 innocent lives o n 9/11!
