In Response to Re: Bankrupt Politics: The Republican Plan to Kill Our Economy: In Response to Re: Bankrupt Politics: The Republican Plan to Kill Our Economy : Republicans are still the party the party of fiscal responsibility. What don`t you Dems don`t understand of this country being over 16 trillions in debt without a desire of paying it down by the libs?. Two things are sure to happen-Our credit rating will be downgraded which will result in higher interest and probably another recession and with the FED firing up the printing press inflation will begin to soar. In ten years your kids will thank you(sarcasm) for putting such a heavy financial burden on them. Enjoy it while you can -it is going to get nasty in months to come. Posted by easyed598 First, of course, we're not "broke." Big corporations and the wealthiest Americans are making more money - and a higher percentage of America's total income - than ever. The fact is that if millionaires and billionaires paid taxes at the same rate they did during the Reagan Administration - and the income they earn clipping coupons on investments were taxed at the same rates as people who work for a living - that would go a long way to eliminating the deficit. I read $40 trillion dollars in assets is owned by 1% of our population... SO if they paid off our debt they would still have $24 trillion or so to divide up amongst themselves......try writing that figure on a CHECK. In fact the entire thing about “chullen and grandchullen” is a lie especially designed to be the mantra of people who do not give a flip about their offspring. It is a con sold to a poor class by people whose chullen and grandchullen have very little stake in the health of the country, whose offspring can just live off the wealth stolen from given willingly to them by the American people. The whole idea that the personal wealth of the top 1% creates any more jobs than a few personal services employees, often paid under the table, is so absurd that I must declare any person who buys into this to be really dangerously stupid. Additionally, if anyone believes that such people “invest” in the country better than the taxpayers, through government, invests in the country, that person needs to go back to the true days of robber barons when railroads were built because that may be the last time rich people invested in the country. But, of course, the investment was just for themselves and not for the people. |

In Response to Re: Bankrupt Politics: The Republican Plan to Kill Our Economy: In Response to Re: Bankrupt Politics: The Republican Plan to Kill Our Economy : ADD (2) more years under our current President and 99% of the tax cuts and credits still remain. It was and is done for the very same reason - to keep this economy moving. Believe it or not, when money is removed from the private sector to the government, it hurts our economy. Posted by GailL1 Yes, I agree as it's been used to move businesses to other countries and off-shored in foreign banks. The wealthy have done absolutely nothing to further the safety or well-being of America except for trying to keep the "war on terrorism" going. They haven't created jobs but invested it in foreign countries. Their wars were a prime example of corporate America privatizing military operations while making huge profits. They send out young people with this idea of "fighting for our freedom" when it's actually meant to clear the way for their own investments overseas. Does anyone really believe that we accomplished anything in these wars except to lose 7,000 Americans, many more wounded and sending us into enormous debt? Why are the corporations doing extremely well during a time of war?

Posted by easyed598 First of all my friend, I am not a Democrat. Secondly, Obama didn't put at at 16 trillion in debt. He had help from the previous moron that claimed to be fiscally responsible. Six agencies went over Romney's budget and they all found that the only way it would work was with a tax increase on the middle class. On top of that, Romney had already stated he wanted tax cuts for the rich, ( one of the things he never flipped flopped on ) and he was not concerned with the poor. Plus he promised to spend 2 TRILLION on the Navy alone. He then lied to everyone, at the second debate, claiming he was going to give a 20% tax cut "accross the board" to everyone. ( was not in his budget plan at all ). And you call this "the party of fiscal responsibility"?? Many analysts say Romney defeated himself. Others say Republicans refused to vote for him, and so they didn't vote at all. Statement above edited by wisemagic due to newer research. http://costofwar.com/ Do you remember the stimulus checks Bush sent out to us? That was a joke too. Where did that money come from? That money was tax money the government collect from us. So they gave us a few hundred bucks of it back, to spend, to get the economy moving. And turned right around and taxed that stimulus money the following April. Taxed on top of Tax. "the party of fiscal responsibility"..............Bull SH^T You want to keep believing in a party that does not believe in it's own ideals. You want to continue to believe that Republicans are fiscally responsible? go Here http://x2t.com/demise and explain to me what fiscal responsibility is, because I don't see it. Not even the "saint" Ronald Reagan was fiscally responsible. He raised the debt ceiling 17 times, and tripled his deficit. He even apoligized for his spending and tax increases at his exit speech. So when you try to equate "fiscal responsible" to the Republican party, I don't know what the heck you are talking about. The Republican Party abandoned fiscal responsibility a long time ago. Around the same time they abandoned the people of this country. |
