General Wesley Clark: Wars Were Planned - Seven Countries In Five Years
General Wesley Clark:
Because I had been through the Pentagon right after 9/11. About ten days after 9/11, I went through the Pentagon and I saw Secretary Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary Wolfowitz. I went downstairs just to say hello to some of the people on the Joint Staff who used to work for me, and one of the generals called me in. He said, "Sir, you've got to come in and talk to me a second." I said, "Well, you're too busy." He said, "No, no." He says, "We've made the decision we're going to war with Iraq." This was on or about the 20th of September. I said, "We're going to war with Iraq? Why?" He said, "I don't know." He said, "I guess they don't know what else to do." So I said, "Well, did they find some information connecting Saddam to al-Qaeda?" He said, "No, no." He says, "There's nothing new that way. They just made the decision to go to war with Iraq." He said, "I guess it's like we don't know what to do about terrorists, but we've got a good military and we can take down governments." And he said, "I guess if the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem has to look like a nail."
So I came back to see him a few weeks later, and by that time we were bombing in Afghanistan. I said, "Are we still going to war with Iraq?" And he said, "Oh, it's worse than that." He reached over on his desk. He picked up a piece of paper. And he said, "I just got this down from upstairs" -- meaning the Secretary of Defense's office -- "today." And he said, "This is a memo that describes how we're going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran." I said, "Is it classified?" He said, "Yes, sir." I said, "Well, don't show it to me." And I saw him a year or so ago, and I said, "You remember that?" He said, "Sir, I didn't show you that memo! I didn't show it to you!"

So all these were hoaxes. Arab spring, Libya regime change, Syria unrest….. all done by the CIA for the war plan of the US planned. |

In Response to Re: Assult on America: There is an assault on America. It's by " progressive s". Ultraleft wing extremists have taken over the democrat party. It is no longer the democrat party, but rather a coalition of socialists, anarchists and conservationists. There aim is to collapse our system, take away our freedoms and substitute a syastem in which the government has complete and utter control over our lives. Making citizens dependent upon the government for jobs, food, housing and education is their means of doing this. Once people are ensnared by this they will find it difficult to give up the free lunch. The question we must ask is Do we want to continue as a free republic in which we each determine our own destinies or do we want to have the government make all our decisions for us? Response to Assult on America : Posted by Labrat64 The "progressives" have been trying to awaken Americans to seeing how corporate America is in contol of the country even more so when Bush took office back in 2001. Just ask Americans when they started to notice a real decline. The Bush tax cuts weren't needed as most people were employed and had insurance and benefits. Bush squandered the Clinton surplus by returning it to the American people in checks amounting to $300. The terrorist attacks cost us money, but just think of how that Clinton surplus could have covered them. After 2 major tax cuts that started to drain money from our public services and "entitlements", Bush got us into a decade of 2 very costly wars, losing almost 7,000 Americans and spending trillions of $$$ for military contractors and defense spending. I admit that Clinton was wrong for enancting NAFTA which would accelerate under Bush when 800,000 jobs a month were being eliminated or outsourced to China and other countries for the cheapest labor possible. Corporations hid their money in foreign banks. It's no wonder why the CEOs made 400X what their average employee made. The loss of so many good jobs left Americans without a decent salary, health insurance and the ability to save. At the same time, he created a real estate bubble where people were encouraged to buy homes or re-finance mortgages at very low interest rates. However, home prices soared when an average home went for $400,000 and a condo for $200,000. It's true that some people never should have owned homes, but many were "baited" to buy one as Wall Street created a worldwide casino gambling our money away. More people lost their homes due to job loss and interest rates that creeped up. Today, many people are stuck with high mortgages and taxes on a home or condo that is now half of what they bought it for. Most can't get a lower interest rate, so they're in a lot of trouble. Was it their fault for being "greedy"? No, more like Wall Street who knew how to manipulate people. That's like a doctor telling a person that he needs surgery, but how does the patient know when he trusts his doctor? Even the medical industry has profited while blaming patients when they're the ones doing the diagnosis. Medicare Part D could have helped seniors, but it was a blessing for big Pharma. How many seniors fell into the "donut hole" after spending for exhorbitant drugs that weren't being negotiated? After all that, the stock market crashed in 2008 while being told by the Repubs that our economy was fundamentally sound. How many lost their retirement savings or a big chunk of it? They lost, but Wall Street was bailed out with billions, if not trillions, of $$$. Yes, there are many social programs that have been foolish and useless over the years. However, many hard-working and responsible Americans started to fall into poverty and a lower class status when they lost their jobs. Many can't afford insurance premiums so any health care issue can send them into bankruptcy. These massive debts have been created mainly by the Republicans who still want to preserve the all the wealth for those at the top who support them with massive campaign donations. |

So true, Republican Speaker Boehner's latest offer to President Obama asks for $1 Trillion in cuts to our Medicare and Medicaid and a reduction in our yearly Social Security cost of living increases. As if our seniors can afford to pay more for healthcare and get less in Social Security. Where is the fairness to our already struggling seniors, disabled and Veterans ??? We all have to contact our representatives and tell them we cant afford to pay more for healthcare and get less in Social Security. It is so simple to see who wants to destroy Medicare and Social Security yet many seniors still believe the Republicans are looking after their best interest. In the last election women, minorities, and the young put Obama over the edge while most seniors voted for the loser. As here in Louisiana where the poverty level is above the national average and the Republican governor "Bobby JIndal" continues to close public hospitals. Don't people see what is going on around them? Republicans have fought everything that has mattered and will matter for generations to come such as Climate Change, Gun Control, Taxing the Rich, Health Care Reform, Education, but they also loved to start wars but wouldn't dare fight in one. These politicians are in it for themselves and themselves only. They get rich off of Big Business so they protect their rice bowl. They finance each other during reelections as long as they back each other during debates in the senate and house. They are not looking after the people who elected them to office. It's about time that we all show a united front but that also will never happen and that is exactly what these crooks count on. I don't hear of these lawmakers taking any cuts or term limits or limiting campaign funds. Isn't that cutting cost also. After all if a business can dish out millions on campaigns for these thugs, they should be able to pay taxes. Creppel, You make a good point. The billionaire CEO's would rather give millions in political donations to avoid paying their fair share of taxes, instead of paying those taxes to help support a civilized society with good schools, police, fire, roads & bridges and programs for our seniors and disabled able to survive with dignity. Thats the greed at the top that we are dealing with today.Response to Re: Assult on America: It is so simple to see who wants to destroy Medicare and Social Security yet many seniors still believe the Republicans are looking after their best interest. I also think one thing we would agree on is what sacrifices these lawmakers making, Democrate, Republican, Independent etc. when they engage forcing sacrifices on us. Especially since we were not the ones who put this country in the situation we are in today. In Response to Re: Assult on America: Creppel, You make a good point. In Response to Re: Assult on America: In Response to Re: Assult on America : the top 1% in America own 37% of all the wealth . That the top 1% enjoy more than 20% of all the income. So – who made it this way? The nurses, fast-food workers, teachers, cashiers, police officers and secretaries? Or the 1 percent at the top? Today, 15% of the USA -- nearly one in seven Americans -- are considered poor, the highest rate of poverty since 1993. Now among the poor are the college-educated, the former middle-class worker, the suburbanite and the homeowner. They've been hit by layoffs, cuts in work hours, health problems and other crises. They've gone through savings and 401(k)s. They live off food stamps or other government benefits and rely on help from family members and friends. IF Obama isn't re-elected and one of the GOP gets into the White House, we had better PRAY loudly that the Congress isn't lost to the Republicans. Otherwise, this country is going to be in a deep depression within a matter of a year or 18 months after the GOP--- takes over the government. NEVER FORGET THE EIGHT YEARS under the GOP WHEN WE ALL FELL THROUGH THE FLOOR VOTE OBAMA 2012---- Posted by JANMB Six members of the Walton family appear on the Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans. Christy Walton, widow of the late John Walton, leads the clan at No. 6 with a net worth of $25.3 billion as of March 2012. She is also the richest woman in the world for the seventh year in a row, according to Forbes. Here are the other five: No. 9: Jim Walton, $23.7 billion No. 10: Alice Walton, $23.3 billion No. 11: S. Robson Walton, oldest son of Sam Walton, $23.1 billion No. 103: Ann Walton Kroenke, $3.9 billion No. 139: Nancy Walton Laurie, $3.4 billion That’s a grand total of $102.7 billion for the whole family. Sylvia Allegretto, a labor economist at the Center on Wage and Employment Dynamics at the University of California-Berkeley, compared the Waltons’ cumulative net worth with that of the overall population, as cited in the Survey of Consumer Finances. (She used the Waltons’ wealth from 2010, which was valued at $89.5 billion.) Allegretto found that in 2007, the wealth held by the six Waltons was equal to that of the bottom 30.5 percent of families in the U.S. In 2010, the Waltons’ share equaled the entire bottom 41.5 percent of families. That 41.5 percent represents nearly 49 million families, notes Josh Bivens at the left-leaning Economic Policy Institute. While median family wealth fell by 38.8 percent, Bivens wrote, the wealth of the Walton family members rose from $73.3 billion in 2007 to $89.5 billion in 2010, or about 22 percent growth. *********************** My daughter works for WalMart. Now going into her second year with them, she has just begun making $10.00 an hour, and pays more for medical insurance than I do as a trucker. Pay is bi-monthly, and net is just above $600.00. The Bush tax cuts were more generous to the wealthy (4.5%) which accounts for the 22% growth of the Walton family fortune, between 2007 & 2010. As the old saying goes, "You don't get rich hitting a time clock or working for someone else", and the rich are under no obligation to pay more, just because they could. Ironically, it took congress 7 years to raise the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25, yet they themselves averaged a $2.00 an hour raise every year, that comes from the taxes paid by people working for far less money. I don't fault the rich for what they have, as they worked to get themselves into the position they are in, but when I hear that DC wants more form the working class, I find that hard to swallow, as most young people starting out today are pushed into working for big companies that pay "poverty wages" such as WalMart. And because of the "poverty wages" the employee turnover rate is very high. My daughter says that 7 out of 10 of the people that she started out working with are gone, and new ones come and go every month. |
