you all have great ideas- I'm just afraid that nobody is able to change much in our country. it is so far gone... in both conventions, the establishment IGNORED voice of people. on youtube they showed close up of Boehner eyes when he lied to us--not even a blink! Cheating us is easy for him--and most of Congress is like that! Our interests are represented only by a few people in Washington--the rest cares more about special interests than about American people. more about that "fiscal cliff bill". So if you are getting more than 40K you pay more taxes but if you are big bank or corp. you are saved... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6A96v0-k8s |

"Most bad government has grown out of too much government." Thomas Jefferson ![]() I find it amazing how much foresight our founding fathers had. creppelrm, I too live in Louisiana, and have done more than my fair share of calling & writing our politicians. All with null results. I remain an activist for the Libertarian Party now, and I'm sure you know that you can talk until you are blue in the face, but the die hard Republicans here just will not budge. I feel there are enough seniors, over 50, that united, we can break the system. The next election will have a new Republican & Democrat candidates. We all need to come together, behind a new way of thinking. The Libertarian Candidate, Gary Johnson also was a Republican. As a Libertarian now, he made a statement during the last election: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X3QRSIXgns We need to come together now, for ourselves, our children, our grand children and their grand children. Or we just continue the cycle of failure, with new players. Every 4 years, we keep saying, "Ahh this guy, he's going to get it right, he's going to fix the problems," And nothing changes except larger government, more taxes more loss of freedom. This week President Obama and Congress managed – unbelievably – to “avert” the so-called Fiscal Cliff by 1) increasing taxes 2) increasing spending, and 3) adding to a $16 Trillion debt that simply cannot be sustained. Did we need any more proof that the entrenched special interests and big government addicts are still very much in charge? Will electing a Libertarian, or Green Party President fix everything? NO. It will take time. But continuing to elect Republicans & Democrats hasn't changed or fixed anything either. We have to start somewhere. I know some of you are tired of my postings for the Libertarian Party, and against the big two. You have a few more years to think things over, and see the course our country is headed in. It is our decision to continue on our present course, or turn this ship around. |

I agree, everyone has to have a chance and the only way this can happen is to break this strangle hold these career politicians have in Washington. They don't even listen to what the general populace has to say. They don't answer our request or letters. They twist the truth. We have to stop Big Business from influencing these career politicians. We have to stop lobbyist that influence these career politicians. We need to save Social Security and Medicare for the future. Everyone has to understand we are the Government not the mess we have in Washington at the moment. We have more power than anyone in Washington, yet we stand divided by petty issues or think nothing can be done.
