In Response to I am a Obama voter and i am having a Buyer Remorse confession, here's why.: Back in 2008-2009, as I watched from the sidelines while Team Obama and the Nancy Pelosis proposed and implemented Obamacare, many Americans as well as USAA members's public comments espoused concerns that the new law would someday lead to universal healthcare and “death panels”. Our President scoffed at this accusation. Today, I scoff at him and my very own Democratic party who are clearly up to “no good”. Our Democrats friends knew that they might not need to use “death panels” to achieve their goal. A new tax might take care of this for them. Since doctors prescribe, order, and use these devices, and since hospitals purchase them in conjunction with surgeries and treatments rendered to seniors, the new tax would put downward pressure on medical device sales as hospitals and doctors react to heat also put on them to contain costs to help control the rising cost of health insurance. Indeed ObamaCare puts enough pressure on ALL players in the healthcare arena that everybody will feel the heat! Yes, the new sales tax levied against manufacturers of medical devices will most directly affect these businesses. But, more importantly, the new tax will hit end users who are seniors. I am convinced that our President and our party have made us, the seniors, the target market of this new law. From the perspective of concerns about our federal budget, seniors impose the greatest burden. Our government simply must reduce this financial burden, correct? Instead of needing to use death panels, Mr. Obama knew they could reduce the burden by levying a sales tax on the manufacturers who produce devices used to treat seniors. Doctors and hospitals who feel the financial constraints of the new law will likely prescribe and use fewer medical devices to treat them. The result: more elderly will die sooner. The quicker they die, and the more who die, the greater the reduction in the financial burden on the federal budget for Social Security and for Medicare. Dems regard this as “common good” that looks out for future generations who must contend with our federal debt. HA! I see the deceptive strategy in our President’s law! He and our Dems friends have not tricked some of us. We know that they don’t need death panels to kill off the elderly. They can accomplish the same goal by levying a sales tax against producers of medical devices used to sustain senior lives. Thank you for listening, Your thoughts? Posted by WarrenDar I voted for Obama again, but I'm not always satisfied with his proposals as they still seem to favor big business. However, it's still very unclear as to what will happen with Obamacare as there's still a lot of mis-information out there. I just wished that he had gone with a single payer health care system, but it seems that anything in health care that doesn't make a profit isn't on the table. However, I would rather have Obama watching my back than the Republicans.

Republican Speaker Boehner is holding our struggling seniors, disabled and Veterans ( healthcare and S.S. cola) hostage during the fiscal cliff negotiations. The same Republican leaders, who were behind President Bush sending our soldiers to Iraq, are cutting benefits for those same brave soldiers who are returning home disabled. Its enough to make you sick to your stomach.Response to Re: I am a Obama voter and i am having a Buyer Remorse confession, here's why.: I think you are right ... just a new twist in the Obama bashers arsenal of rants. If Romney had won, it would be NO compromise and the wealthy would not be asked to pay any rate hike and we would be looking at a Voucher healthcare system and privatizing S.S. So yes it could be much worse, but I dont feel President Obama should be compromising with $1 Trillion in healthcare cuts. In my opinion there was no other choice, that had a chance of stopping the Plutocratic Republican Tea party movement of today.Response to Re: I am a Obama voter and i am having a Buyer Remorse confession, here's why.: Too late to start crying now. YOU had other choices.

This country is in the shape it is in because of the failed policies of the Republicans and Democrats. People are stuck believing that these are the only 2 parties that "should" run ( or ruin ) the country. Until we stop voting for the same two parties that keep doing the same failing things over and over again, nothing will ever change. Voters continue to choose between the lesser of two evils instead of looking for something better. I myself, find it disgusting that between these two parties, over 2 billion dollars was spent during the campaign, while homeless and hungry people struggle to get through another winter. Banks and big business continue to pay the way for their candidates, to receive the favors and breaks they want. The differences between the two big parties is minimal at best. We only live in an illusion of democracy, while the underlying reality is truly a dictatorship. "There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution." In my opinion the 8 years of President Bush got us in this mess that we are slowly digging out of. Social Security does not contribute to the deficit. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the cost of 2 wars----the Bush tax cuts contributed most to the deficit..... The Republicans feel they just can not allow a government run program that succeeded to stand. It disproves their held position that government can do nothing well. They will not be satisfied until they have killed these programs that have served the people so well. We have seen them try to starve the benefits to death or put incompetents in charge to prove their contention . And they will never stop trying to erase this and other good government programs because they can not stand to be proven wrong." |
