( Here's Simpson who lived off the Govt Former Sen. Alan Simpson is not happy with the California Alliance for Retired Americans. In an April letter full of bad language, the pugnacious Wyoming Republican criticized the seniors group for a flyer that protested a deficit reduction plan from the task force he co-chaired with Clinton administration honcho Erskine Bowles. "Your little flyer entitled 'Bowles! Simpson! Stop using the deficit as a phony excuse to gut our Social Security!' is one of the phoniest excuses for a 'flyer' I have ever seen," Simpson wrote on his official Senate stationery. "What a wretched group of seniors you must be to use the faces of the very young people that we are trying to save, while the 'greedy geezers' like you use them as a tool and a front for your nefarious bunch of crap," Simpson continued. "You must feel some sense of shame for shoveling this bullshit." The National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, created by President Barack Obama in 2010 to craft a plan to tackle the nation's structural budget deficits, recommended trimming Social Security costs, by raising the retirement age and creating a new formula for calculating benefits, in order to save money. The Simpson-Bowles plan, as it is known, would also slightly increase Social Security payroll taxes. The California Alliance for Retired Americans is not a fan of the plan. Neither Simpson nor the California Alliance immediately responded to requests for comment. The Social Security trust fund has enough money to pay full benefits until 2033, according to the most recent trustees report, at which point incoming Social Security tax revenue would be sufficient to pay 75 percent of benefits. Simpson has previously called Social Security "a milk cow with 310 million tits!" Simpson's letter, which was forwarded to media by the AFL-CIO. |

IYou apparently don;t have children and grandchildren. Adjustments will have to be made to both SS and Medicare to keep it viaable. I for one, do not want my grandchildren working in some Chinese rice paddy to pay off our debt to them. The Simpson-Bowles plan was a great start. Unfortunately it got in the way of obama's re-election campaign. California is a total disaster. The solution by their liberal politicians is to keep raising taxes and regulate. Nobody seems to realize that businnesses are leaving the state in droves. Response to Alan Simpson: 'What A Wretched Group Of Seniors You Must Be': ( Here's Simpson who lived off the Govt Former Sen. Big Business hasn't only been leaving that state they have been leaving the country going to China for cheap labor and yet Republicans want to stop hispanic immigration to this country when these people are taking jobs no American wants. Farmers are planting less because they know that their crops won't be harvested due to lack of labor. There are jobs for the unemployed. Why don't anyone take those? If you are desperate you take any job available. If Big Business don't want to pay taxes then they need to leave. That shows they were never patriots to begin with. They take advantage of our system and people but when they need to help when times are a little hard they run. That is not true. Many businesses are coming back to the US. They find that QC is much better in the US and logistic costs are much lower. They're leaving California because it is one of the highest taxed states Texas and Nevada are benefiting. You'll note that your state of Louisiana is also benefiting due to its low taxes and the fact that it is a right to work state. California also has a ruineous regulatory climate. What I said is absolutely true, Even worse a lot of the 1% are renouncing their American citizenship not to pay taxes. Michele Bachman was wanting to become a Swiss citizen until she caved in to public pressure. Real Patriots are these people who will live with you and take your money, when the times are good but run when times get a little rocky. My Mama called them good time friends. She used to ask me "So you say they are your friends? I would say yes they are. She would say "Do they laugh with you?" I would say yes they do. She would say do they cry with you? I would say NO. Well maybe they are not friends. n Response to Re: Alan Simpson: 'What A Wretched Group Of Seniors You Must Be': That is not true. Many businesses are coming back to the US. Response to Alan Simpson: 'What A Wretched Group Of Seniors You Must Be' : Posted by Labrat64 I have children and grandchildren and this country is bountiful enough to take care of people when they are too old to work. Taxes are the LOWEST they have been in decades. Taxes were far higher on top incomes in the three decades after World War II than they’ve been since. And the distribution of income was far more equal. Yet the American economy grew faster in those years than it’s grown since tax rates on the top were slashed in 1981. According to Business Insider....".the U.S. has roughly 6 million businesses that employ people, and 20 million businesses without employees or solo operators or those who just incorporate for tax writeoffs. i.e professionals in partnerships and those who organize themselves as a business for tax purposes but earn little if any income from the enterprise. Small businesses are defined as having fewer than 500 workers each" Seems you are blaming the WRONG ONES for our messes today. Republicans had the chance to FIX EVERYTHING when they had full control for 8 years.....and now you want them back in power again ? Obama never had 60 votes and it's a MIRACLE he got anything done at all with the republican obstructionists and fillibusters and NO to everything. . SS is not in trouble ..... we should have a ONE PAYER like other countries have but republicans don't want that EITHER. Look at this LIST and where the USA stands ...thank you GOP .....
