In Response to Hope I Am Doing This Correctly: Hello Everyone! I am just being re-instated to AARP discussions following a year or more of not being able to access the site at all. Last time I was here, I was involved in a group called Writing Memoirs and cannot find it, but I saw this group and it is definitely what I need at this moment in time. I will be sixty five in October and with as many things as I have accomplished in life, I am finding myself feeling as if I have been "put out to pasture". I am active, have raised five children as a divorced/single mother and three grandchildren have been raised by me as well. I will not go into my long list of starts, stops, accomplishments, etc for fear I would lose my train of thought, but I have authored two books, still work part time, etc and hav have chatted befe overcome some tragic situations and made it despite overwhelming odds, but I suddenly feel "un-attached" to anything except being "older". Anyone share this Twilight Zone type of feeling? I hope I joined your group correctly. I did not see anything that said, "Join this group" so I hope I am sticking to the rules! Thanks! Posted by Zenobia Hey Hon, I see ya! I haven't been on for a long time either, but we have chatted before. I'll be 70 in June if the Lord spares me, but..no I don't feel disconnected or anything. Like you I am very busy. I do hope you feel better soon. lol |

In Response to Re: Hope I Am Doing This Correctly: I am trying this out as I just sent a post to the group and got a blank page that suggests I did not send it. Please let me know if anyone can see this. I would like to join the group Transitions. Posted by Zenobia Hi Zenobia, I see ya! For what it is worth I to have entered into a new arena of life. I just turned 50. Raised my only child who is grown and has been gone away and living on the other side of the coast. I have been a single parent during the process. I am having to recreat and redefine myself. I am having to do a lot of soul searching, disattaching and find what makes me happy, invigorating, stimulating and all those other stimulating things. Hang in there girl because after all you are traveling or has traveled where I may need to go .(perhaps you can give some insite.) Stay encouraged..... From RennyP |
