I have been working part-time jobs since I lost my job in 2010 and have wondered if there was a career that I could switch to that would be better for someone my age to get into.  I have been doing nonprofit communications and some grant writing.  Most nonprofits want to hire young people to do newsletters and marketing.  I have limited experience with grant writing and haven't been able to get a job (outside of contract gigs here and there).

I have good writing and organizational skills.  I'm more introverted.  I know the medical field is supposedly the way to go but the studies would probably put me out of my element.

Any thoughts or ideas of careers that might be suitable and don't require a lot of extra education and money?

I hear your frustration and can empathize. Are you open to thinking outside the box? If you are, I would like to present to you the concept of Total Wellness and a company called Nikken. Check this website out and if interested, get in touch with me for more information: http://mtbinfopack.com/ My email is rll418@yahoo.com and my name is Rona.
