Herman Cain has a plan. You might have heard of it: “9-9-9.” A flat 9 percent tax on business, individuals and sales transactions. Cain has gone out on a limb with a specific proposal and anyone who gives the plan a close reading will have no choice but to deep-six it.  Cain’s plan kills off the earned income tax credit and rolls right over other low income families.

everyone would pay a 9 percent tax on their "gross" income, minus any charity contributions, no matter if you’re pulling in $18,000 a year or $180,000 a year. On top of that, everyone would shell out another 9 percent in sales tax on purchases of new items. Cain hasn’t excluded items such as food, housing, health care and cars. It’s a one-two punch in the gut for struggling families and anyone else straddling the poverty line. Middle-class families need more money in their pockets to spend and revive the economy, but “9-9-9” takes a chunk out of their hide too.

Corporate America may cheer him as a hero, but for most Americans, Cain’s “9-9-9” is a big zero. So what do you think of Herman Cains "999" plan?

The economists laugh at the 9-9-9-  ......that's good enough for me to say it's a joke.

It's expensive to restructure a whole department like the IRS and then have businesses all over the country do so.

All they need to do....is take away the corporate loopholes  and  when Obama mentioned removing the corporate welfare from these corporations  all of the GOP sat in their chairs and scowled......

Bring back the  FICA tax rate  ---bring back the  the tax rates back to the same place they were during Clinton's term----and bring the interest rates back up there so seniors in particular will have more money to spend into the economy and the young folks can save more money towards retirement.  .
