Purchase your vehicle with a Cashiers Check

I advertised my ski boat for sale for $13,500. I received an email from someone asking questions about the boat, which I answered. The person replied saying he had a client that wanted my boat. He said he would send my a cashier's check for $20,000 and would arrange for pickup of the boat. I was to send him a return cashier's check for the difference of $6,500. He said that the $20,000 check was from a previous deal that fell through. I got suspicious and did an internet search and found that this was a Nigerian scam where the $20,000 check would turn out to be fake. When you deposit it in your bank account it shows up as a deposit, but when the check doesn't clear, the bank comes back to you to make it good. Meanwhile they cash the check you sent them for the difference and your money is gone. |

Hello, that sounds like a Fake Check scam that you would not learn about until your bank reclaimed your money after discovering the check is bad.
