Again this fall we suddenly started receiving, Newsweek, Time, Bloomfield report and an arts and crafts magazine, none of which we ordered.  Over a three week period we received all the issues back to Sept. 2011, then the phone calls started, during the first week of Dec. we got 3-5 phone calls daily, the first ones were to warn us that some un-named subscription company was trying to steal this company's subscribers. At first they wouldn't tell me what company they were instead they just hung up. Caller ID only identified the call as " Minnesota" now it comes up as "800-555-1212" Holy cow whoever this is owns the 800 directory assistance. One other number popped up once 651-256-3077. Now they have started trying to collect $90+ for the magazines. Guess they don't think we older folks will challenge them, what a surpise they will get again, shouldn't have tried it two years in a row. Just wondered if any one else is getting hit by these scam artists.

We've had lots of problems with magazine scams.Last year we had at least 5 different magazines coming to us that we never ordered. We did everything we could think of to stop them-we called the postal inspectors, contacted publishers, etc. We were getting phone calls telling us we owed nearly $1,000.00 but they would knock it down to $500. !!! Of course we didn't pay.
Finally they stopped.
But just this past week we received a copy of "Fast Co."- one of the magazines we had been receiving. And yesterday we got the phone call (651-256-3077) telling us that they would reduce our subscription price. I told the caller in no uncertain terms to stop calling and stop sending magazines. Her response was to ask me how old I was! What the...??  I hung up. Has anyone found an effective way to stop these calls altogether?
