In Response to Indians with Computer Repair:
They call -say they're from Microsoft and they can tell your computer is troubled. Next step is to ask you for romote control over your machine to see what's wrong. Then it's a huge price to clean all viruses and guarantee you protection from future viruses. Once this is done - they'll call every few months or so for more money. The latest - they'll call and say they have to refund some of your money because their guarantee wasn't good. The way this works - they'll demand the balance on $500 to get your money back. Amazing. When challanged on this a jerk actually threatened to come back and ruin my machine if I didn't buy the pass word antidote to what he was about to send my way. They use all sorts of American sounding names to call them back on. So everybody call Marsh Jones at their number 603-835-3369 and ask how they're doing with the general public.

I succumbed to this hoax and bought into what was to have been "lifetime service" from Microsoft. Twice since then, they have tried to "refund" my money by depositing too much money into Paypal or other account, then trying to pursuade me to refund them the difference. The first time I refused, but they still managed to defraud $400 from my AMEX card, which thankfully was forgiven by AMEX. Today they called again, saying they were from "Best Buy", and again trying to "refund" money to me. This time I hung up on them, but they still have a lot of my information from the first go-around, when they obtained a lot of information AND remote access to my computer.
