The Hartford has really been hard to work with. They canceled our auto insurance and never told us. Now we can't get insurance. Has anyone else had trouble with them? ST

I had Nationwide auto & homeowners insurance for a long time but never filed an auto claim. I filed hail damage claims on my homeowners policy and they paid 2 claims on one house but on another house when I filed a 2nd claim they denied it because they said the previous claim was not completed. They neglected to tell me that until 2yrs later when I filed the 2nd claim and it was denied. I asked them why they didnt tell me earlier that work on the previous claim was not finished to their satisfaction when I sent them the roofers final invoice. I never got an answer to this question and it amounted to them cancelling coverage for roof claims but not telling me about it. I filed a complaint with the insurance commission in Austin and since my roof and possibly other damages were not longer covered I had to find another insurance company and subsequently found Safeco for auto & homeowners insurance thru a local agency. Large insurance companys like Nationwide administer claims thru different offices depending on your address even if you move within the same city. Its the luck of the draw how fairly or consistently you are treated by the various offices.
