In my opinion a serious problem has developed especially for seniors that shop on the web. Several sites which attract seniors because of their low prices especially for clothing are the offenders. Without your understanding they start making a monthly charge on your credit card for a Reward Membership Program. A common charge is $14.95 a month. I did not discover this until a year had lapsed. These sites are well identified by dissatisfied consumers on the web. I am surprised that AARP has not addressed this form of fraud. At this time I am withholding names of the clothing sites until I have had an opportunity to resolve my dispute with this approach. A $180 a year is not a good deal for a cheap sweater. |
