In "Avoid Jury Notices Rigged to Get Your ID," our columnist describes a resurgence of the "jury duty scam," first reported in 2006, in which someone calls your home saying they are from a local courthouse and you are about to be arrested because you missed jury duty. It's really a ploy to get your personal information—Social Security number, bank account number, birth date—all of which can help the scammer steal your identity.
