I too am irritated by membership renewal notifications that are sent over a year early.  Why don't the notifications have dates on them showing when membership is expiring?  Mine does not expire until November 2013 but the renewal form says I must reply by February 24, 2013.  Can I trust an organization that operates in this way?

I also was annoyed to get a renewal notice last year shortly after I signed up the first time. Now I notice that my membership is expiring at the end of February 2013, but not a peep from AARP! Maybe now they know I'm not a sucker, they don't want me anymore.

I am a new AARP member who joined today for five years.  I appreciate that you all are talking about this for a while now, and I will be alert to such events in my future with AARP.

I checked my account before I sent this complain to make sure I have the information correct. I am getting tired of receiving renew notice way far in advance of the due date.  I wonder if AARP who is suppose to help seniors is really running a renewal scam. I am planning to end my membership to the AARP if I keep getting renewal notices 5 to 6 months in advance. How many seniors will just trust and send the money in and then you will send another renewal each month.
