In Response to Credit Card: I do not have a credit card and didn't think I would ever need one, even for the convenience. I have found, however, since I have retired and am now on a limited income that a credit card would be helpful to get me from one SS check to the next. I would like to have one that would provide a limited credit line of no more than $100.00. This would allow for any extra or misc. expenses until I get my SS, at least this was what I was finding was necessary. The thing is my credit is not good and I am not sure any banks have such an option. Does anyone have any suggestions or knowledge about the above options. Posted by maxieru You can get what is called a "secured credit card". You deposit with the issuing institution a sum of money and that is how much credit they will give you. As you pay the balance off monthly, your credit will get better and after a while you can request either another card with them or someone else and get your security deposit back. Wells Fargo and Capital One are they ones that I know of that have the better secured card plans. You should not have to pay a huge fee for this setup or monthly.. |

Posted by maxieru You can check bankrate.com for the best credit card rates: http://www.bankrate.com/credit-cards.aspx I like USAA for banking, but, you have to be a member. Credit Unions are good, and offer the best service. CapitalOne is a rip off, and will charge you high rates. |
