Hi everyone, any and all comments welcome.

Im 68 yr female, solo, //living on SS and small mo pension. and I have a small savings./ira and Im not very knowledgeable regarding finances/investing. Also, I have priced independent fin. advisors and cannot afford that advice ($500 1 hr or $1200 for a plan).//  do not want to use resource at my financial institution for personal reasons.

My questions is this. -- I cover (for now) my monthly expenses with my fixed income. -- my savings are 50%/50% stocks and bonds.  My questions is , should i try to be saving money from my fixed income to invest for future, even though i currently have a small savings?

thank you for any help.

I guess the question is....do you have enough income left over from your fixed income to add to your savings. If you do, why not add to your savings. Maybe you will want to take a trip or buy a new tv or have a future medical cost. But, if you need your fixed income to eat and pay rent.....I would suggest you eat and pay rent. Or maybe pick up a part time job somewhere to make some extra money. Try to find someplace you would like to work so it is fun.
