So far, I have had no problems with Consumer Cellular and the rates are much lower than my prior carrier, AT&T. I am paying approximately $35.00 a month for quite enough minutes, texts and data which would have cost me about $90.00 a month with AT&T. So far, I am very happy with them. Thank you, AARP, for alerting me to this company. Kathleen Affeldt In Response to Consumer Cellular (AARP endorsed) Don't use them: very high relative cost: AARP blew it with these guys, not senior friendly. If you don't ask the right questions you will have nasty surprises. There are no free minutes (ever), their base plan charges for what the Feds make them give free (911 access, how does a dollar a minute sound to you?). If a couple has two phones on the same plan, and call each other BOTH GET CHARGED MINUTES! YOU CAN DO BETTER WITH ALMOST ANY OTHER CELL PHONE COMPANY. With this comany you will have to buy many more minutes than you need. AARP obviously did not look into this company's plans very well before endorsing it, or all they wanted was the royalty revenue. Shame on you AARP, Seniors trust you to look out for them! AARP deals should really be deals. Posted by tcookxchief |
