A group is a compilation of discussions, photos, videos, events and a blog organized around a specific topic. Any registered user of AARP.org can create, and subsequently "own," a group. Users who wish to participate in a group must first join it. Groups can be public or private.
Message boards, on the other hand, are discussion forums created by AARP, and all registered users are welcome to contribute without any formal joining process.
