Grass Valley, CA  in the Sierra Foothills - A haven for retired folk. Lots of cultural events, music, art, dance, theatre, community college, family-owned stores. This town caters to its senior citizens. There are more senior citizens living in our county (Nevada County) than any other county in California. No Wal-Mart here. We protect our family-owned businesses. Only a couple of hours from Lake Tahoe, Reno, or San Francisco.

Sounds very interesting. We have been looking at Arizona, but so much seems to be going on out there. We both love the the west coast area.

Riberas del Lago, along the shores of Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest lake.  This area includes the villages of Chapala, Riberas, San Antonio, Ajijic, San Juan Cosala and Jocotepic.  We are considered the largest expat community  and  the second best climate in the world.   Our foreign population includes expats from the US, Canada, various countries in Europe, and South Africa.  Only 45 minutes from the Guadalajara airport, the beautiful surroundings, climate, and relaxed attitudes are well known to slow aging and spike rejuvenation.  Fabulous medical care and the ease on the pocketbook make this the perfect place to retire!
