You hear many discussions about the best places to retire overseas, I would say that Panama should definitely be considered as a good alternative. I know there are some articles already on the AARP site about this. I encourage people to check it out. Do a lot of research and spend more than holiday time in these places BEFORE making the final decision, especially if you have never lived in a foreign culture before!
I mean it sounds obvious, but you would be surprised at the number of people who come down to our area ( Boquete, Panama) who have sold up and moved there with only having been there 2 times before for a week a piece. I am not saying you can't KNOW about somewhere quickly, it just may CLICK for you and you love it!...BUT for most people, it doesn't work that way. You need time to evaluate what is really going on in the place and whether you can cope with it, day in, day out.
You are welcome to put questions here about Panama , Boquete ( where I live , up in the highlands - COOL CLIMATE!) and I will do my best to get back here to comment.
ok..that's it
Buana suerte!
