I purchased a pair of dentures from http://www.denturesonline.com and saved a ton of money using their self impression technique. Check it out and save some money on dentures. Hope I have helped in this tough economic times pointing out this opportunity. |

In Response to Question For Those Who Are on Medicare &/or AARP Dental Plan: I'm thinking of joining AARP's Medicare and their Dental Plan. But as I read the information on Medicare & The AARP Dental Plan my head swims and I become overwhelmed. Is there anybody out there with information about their experiences with Medicare and the AARP Dental Plan? I especially need to know about your experiences with the dental plan as I'm pretty sure I need to have dentures put in. Posted by vpagan7 I've got an AARP Dental Plan through UHC and, so far, haven't found it helpful or affordable. Recently, I visited an in-network dental provider for much needed care. I'm on fixed pension and SSDA incomes, so my dental needs are long overdue. After joining an AARP complete plan w/additional dental rider, my Medicare monthly premium went from $65 to $140! (Okay . . . I'll do what I can to afford it; besides, once my dental and other med needs are met, it'll be worth the sacrifice. NOT!!!) I won't go into details of the major live-changing decisions and readjustments I've made, but will say "the jury's still out" on expected benefits. Finally, long short, I paid $10 to discover: required care and dentures, $6,893; my post-insurance, out-of-pocket costs, $2,330; and, $1,165 must be paid BEFORE any work can begin w/balance due BEFORE completion! I'm desperately seekiing alternative solutions and/or programs, online and elsewhere, as we speak. Not having much luck so far, and welcome any advice, help, recommendations, etc. anyone else has to offer. PLEASE AND THANKS IN ADVANCE! Take what you will from my experience; hope it's been helpful. |

There were some suggestions in the Community forum group "Insurance and Medicare" . Go to My Community and search for Insurance and Medicare,it's a public group with a lot of members(some even active!)
