Obama 2013 Budget Medicare Proposals

"The budget released Monday would trim spending on federal health-care programs by about $360 billion over the next decade, primarily by reducing payments to drug companies and other providers. Starting in 2017, Obama also proposes to raise Medicare premiums:
Source: Washington Post: Obama Budget 02/13/2012 - National debt will be $1 trillion higher in a decade than forecast I know his budget is DOA - not just in the House but the Senate too, but I just want to point out that all legislators are looking for more income for Medicare and these proposals will not die with this budget - look for them to be resurrected by (some) party. Times they are a 'changin -So no matter which party is making the suggestions for the change, it is CHANGE that we can be assured. Personally, I think we will be seeing a much larger role of public/private partnership within the Medicare program in the future. |
