"The budget released Monday would trim spending on federal health-care programs by about $360 billion over the next decade, primarily by reducing payments to drug companies and other providers.

Starting in 2017, Obama also proposes to raise Medicare premiums:

  • for new retirees and seniors with higher incomes,
  • start charging co-payments for home health-care services,
  • and penalize patients who buy Medigap policies to take care of Medicare co-payments and deductibles."

I know his budget is DOA - not just in the House but the Senate too,  but I just want to point out that all legislators are looking for more income for Medicare and these proposals will not die with this budget - look for them to be resurrected by (some) party.

Times they are a 'changin -So no matter which party is making the suggestions for the change, it is CHANGE that we can be assured.  Personally, I think we will be seeing a much larger role of public/private partnership within the Medicare program in the future.

And yet he set up a payroll cut by reducing the Social Security taxes last year and it seems to be the basis of the cut this year. This is not the way to support retirees and others that rely on Social Security income. One way of reducing health care is to get rid of Obamacare where he dictates what and how money is spent. We need fiscal responsibility not lunacy.
