I'm currently looking into LTC, does anyone have any feedback, experiences, or advice on the current Genworth Long Term Care offerings?

Also, other than AARP lending their name to the policies is anyone from AARP actively monitoring the company, and member experiences?

thanks

How will this news effect AARP policies:

"Genworth, Richmond, Va. (NYSE:GNW)

Genworth also plans to introduce new products in 2013, and it will tighten underwriting requirements, the company says."

Whatever type of insurance you buy is only as good as the company that stands behind it.
So when I am in the market for new insurance, I follow several rules.
1.  check out the financial health of the insurnace company
2.  find the best type of policy that my pocket book can afford
3.  read what wellknown consumer advocates have to say
4.  talk to a (type of insurance specific) independent agent to get their take on which type of policy would be the best for (individualized) personal situation.

The relationship of AARP to any sponsoring agencies have nothing to do with my final decision.

Hi Gail

I agree on all points and have resolved that I will need to look elsewhere.

>The relationship of AARP to any sponsoring agencies have nothing to do with my final decision.

I think that these marketing relationships may end up effecting the AARP brand.
