It seems that providers and Medicare play some sort of game. The providers bill some astronomical amount and then are reimbursed 20% of that amount but if Medicare doesn't cover the procedure the pat

It seems that providers and Medicare play some sort of game. The providers bill some astronomical amount and then are reimbursed 20% of that amount but if Medicare doesn't cover the procedure the patient is expected to pay the full amount.
I'd like to know why we are expected to pay 500% more than what Medicare pays for a service when Medicare doesn't cover it. Anyone have that problem ? How do you combat it ?
