We've had AARP dental insurance for 17 months. We pay ~$115/month for dual coverage. Items that should be covered according to our contract are not. One of my crowns came out with a post attached. My

Sorry you had a bad experience with your with your Dentist. Perhaps it had nothing to do with Delta Dental.I am an Office Manager at a dentiat office. They are loyal to their Insureds and pay claims as long as you abide by  the clearly written rules in your handbook.

Most definitely a rip off!  Forget it completely and talk with your dentist, or, if you'd willing to change dentists (if your dentist doesn't participate) check out DentalPlans.com which we just found on the internet.  There's a CIGNA Dental Network which we are now looking into....so far, so good!!  We'll keep you posted.

The primary benefit of the Dental Plan is obviously the  the subsidy that Delta pays to AARP, who in turn shell outexcessive compensation to the fat cat officers and lobyists on the payroll.

The plan is crap. I had an excision of a molar that had broken off performed by an oral surgeon. Her charge was $307, which I considered very fair for the time it took, and her experience with complicasted excisions. Well, Delta's "allowance" for the procedure was $&&. They then appilied a $50 deductible and reimbursed me at 50% of the $27 difference. $13.50 payment on a $307charge.

We had prior experience with NorthEast Delta Dental who provided a much better product for a price similar to that charged by AARP for their rip off benefit.
