I am 52 and an individual. In Response to Re: Turned down for AARP sponsored health plan: How old are you and why did they deny coverage? I assume you had an individual policy not employer provided coverage. Insurance company profit margin is now monitored under Obamacare. They are required by law to put so much into patient care. In Response to Re: Turned down for AARP sponsored health plan : Posted by zjeffz You didn't say why you were denied. Check with your state - to see if they have a prgram for you - either state based or the PCP (pre-existing condition program).. |

Yes I am completely aware of all the options that are not available to me. I had just hoped I might have a chance with an AARP sponsored plan. Really wondering if anyone get's approved through the AARP sponsored plan offered by Aetna. In Response to Re: Turned down for AARP sponsored health plan : Posted by zjeffz Why do you think this? It is, afterall, a private insurance company with underwriting to determine risk - all of this is still in effect as of now. AARP just gets royalties for being linked with the plan. Since you have individual coverage, you aren't covered by HIPPA so your options of going elsewhere might be limited right now. Sounds like you are high risk for some reason. Your best options are to take to an independent health insurance agent in your state - if this person is knowledgeable they will know what will be best for your right now - public or private. Don 't drop what you have now until you get something else. If you have already dropped your individual coverage - there is a (6) month waiting period without insurance to apply for the PCIP. |

In Response to Turned down for AARP sponsored health plan: So that's it. No more health insurance for me. After over 50 years of paying for health insurance, the same companies that took my money when I was young now refuse to insure me when I most need it. Thank you very much Aetna and Blue Cross. And really, thank you AARP for just rolling over and supporting Obama care that will do nothing but force people to buy insurance at whatever price these ripoff companies want to change, while still allowing them to cut off people as they get older and more in need of health care. SHAME ON YOU AARP. Posted by zjeffz In a later message you said; I am 52 and an individual. In Response to Re: Turned down for AARP sponsored health plan : Posted by zjeffz Well, I seriously doubt you started BUYING your individual health insurance at the age of 2. The rest of your rant reveals your true agenda, you hate President Obama and AARP. |
