In spite of the inspiring quote from our recently elected president " If you like your current health care plan, youcan keep it. Nobody can take it away from you, period" there is trouble in Legislative Paradise. The nonpartisan CBO Congresional Budget Office announced today that it estimates that 7-8 million people will lose their health insurance as result of Obamacare. That estimate is up from an estimate of 4 million just 6 months ago. The problem is that the penalty charged to an employer, for not offering health insurance, is far less than the actual cost of healthcare. Many businesses are opting out of providing company healthcare plans to their employees in favor of taking the lesser penalty of $2000.00. By making the penalty dramatically less than the actual cost of a healthcare plan, Obamacare has incentivized the companies to get out of the business of providing company plans. An additonal problem is the estimated cost of health care insurance through the government exchanges. The cost for a family of four under the government "Bronze Plan" is estimated to be $20,000.00 annually. This is prohibitively expensive for a family of four making $40,00.00 per year. Their medical premium takes more than half of their net income. So how is your siganture piece of legislation ,Obamacare, working out so far mr. President? |

Nobody should be surprised by this revelation. I just hope that all the folks who voted for another four years of socialism are going to enjoy paying more for their medical insurance, from those smaller paychecks which also weren't supposed to happen to the middle class. The expression "you get what you vote for" has never been more true. |
