I am a diabetic who needs to use Cialis.  My insurance plan has a normal copay for meds of 20% of the cost of the med.  However for Cialis and Viagra the copay is 50% of the cost.  I am sure that my plan is not that different from other plans in the way this is treated.  I see this as blatant age discrimination.  Birth control pills which allow couples to have sex with out the fear of pregancy have a copay of 20% but Cialis and Viagra which are predominately used by those of us over 50 and allow us to have sex have a copay of 2 and a half times that of birth control pills.

Has AARP taken a position?  What can we do to address this?  Are company healthcare plans taking advantage because of the sensitivity of this and assume that Cialis and Viagra users will not want to complain and be visible.  Am I the only one who has this concern and is tired of being taken advantage of because of my age and perceived vunerability?
