In Response to AARP stop supporting Obama Care: AARP should not be supporting Obama Care. The responsibility of AARP is to support its membership. 1. Obama Care plans on taking billions away from medicare acting like a thief in the night, stealing from Medicare to support another program not supportive of medicare recipients. 2. Obama Care will lead the US to bankruptcy since it is not a program adequately funded. 3. Obama Care will reduce the benefits of Medicare programs. 4. Obama Care supports programs that many of us do not support, such as abortion. 5. Obama Care is already making assaults on the beliefs of Religions in trying to make them provide coverage which goes against their teachings. 6. It has been claimed in the policies that will come forward people will have to contribute to abortions if they want certain coverage. This becomes a moral attack against many. 7. It has been claimed that AARP supports Obama Care because it gains money in the insurance programs it provides. This is not for the betterment of your membership but only for the profit taking of AARP. 8. Obama Care dictates to individuals what they must do which goes against Americas principles of individual rights. It is already being challenged and is before the Supreme Court regarding the constitutionality of this act. 9. You have started a program saying where we can speak out on Medicare and Social Security, but in this case you have gone forth supporting an act without providing the same concern about this act. 10. The economy is bad so it is not a time to come forward with an act which will need to demand more from those that our working, as many companies are looking at bailing out of healthcare because of this act. 11. We have frightening national debt, yet this act will make the debt worse since it dose not have the money to support it. 12. Medical costs need to be controlled before the government jumps into a situation where the costs have gone wild. 13. Many of us on medicare will lose when this law takes complete control. 14. Medicare selections will likely be diminished and many of us will lose options we have selected. AARP consider your membership and do not support this act which is not supporting us who have paid into social security and medicare for so many years and are now receiving or will soon receive its benefits. Medicare and Social Security may be called entitlements but unlike some others they are entitlements which we have earned. You are contributing to a situation where we could lose both. As of right now Social Security is the largest holder of the national debt. With Obama Care we should expect both Medicare and Social Security to become bankrupt. AARP stop supporting this act before we start dropping our memberships since you no longer our looking into our best interests but rather goes against moral and American principles. \\\\\\\\\\Posted by JimR45 Mostly LIES----DISTORTED INFORMATION ----OMITTING INFORMATION |

In Response to Re: AARP stop supporting Obama Care: How can AARP SUPPORT Obama care when Obama care takes 741 billion dollars away from medicare? In 2014 we will be losing over 200.00 per month from our Social Security income. Could someone please explain the sanity of this decision by AARP??????? Posted by sitzberger2008 I have read that AARP benefits from Obamacare.. "An investigative report from the House Ways and Means Committee found: “The Democrats’ health care law, which AARP strongly endorsed, could result in a windfall for AARP that exceeds over $1 billion during the next 10 years.” That’s a billion reasons for AARP to betray seniors and support Obama’s bill. The report found that while AARP offers a Medicare Advantage plan through United Healthcare, it does so under a flat-fee licensing agreement that would give the company the same revenue even following savage cuts to Medicare Advantage. Its Medigap policies, on the other hand, are its biggest cash cow and AARP makes money with every policy sold. It was a win-win for AARP’s bottom line, but at a devastating cost to the seniors it pretends to represent" |

In Response to THE LIES--DISTORTED INFORMATION ABOUT OBAMACARE: Stumping in Florida today, Mitt Romney charged President Obama's Affordable Care Act will "cut more than $700 billion" out of Medicare. What Romney didn't say was that his running-mate's budget -- approved by House Republicans and by Romney himself -- would cut Medicare by the same amount. The big difference, though, is the Affordable Care Act achieves these savings by reducing Medicare payments to drug companies, hospitals, and other providers rather than cutting payments to Medicare beneficiaries. The Romney-Ryan plan, by contrast, achieves its savings by turning Medicare into a voucher whose value doesn't keep up with expected increases in healthcare costs -- thereby shifting the burden onto Medicare beneficiaries, who will have to pay an average of $6,500 a year more for their Medicare insurance, according an analysis of the Republican plan by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office. Moreover, the Affordable Care Act uses its Medicare savings to help children and lower-income Americans afford health care, and to help seniors pay for prescription drugs by filling the so-called "donut hole" in Medicare Part D coverage. The Romney-Ryan plan uses the savings to finance even bigger tax cuts for the very wealthy. Spread the word. Don't allow the GOP to get away with this demagoguery. ROBERT B. REICH, Chancellor's Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley, was Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration. Time Magazine named him one of the ten most effective cabinet secretaries of the last century. He has written thirteen books, including the best sellers "Aftershock" and "The Work of Nations." His latest is an e-book, "Beyond Outrage." He is also a founding editor of the American Prospect magazine and chairman of Common Cause. Please Jim, Fox News only defends the Pro Right Wing Conservative Republican side of Life.. Go to the NON - PARTISAN Congressional Budget Office for savings with Obamacare.. At least MSNBC has Democrat and Republican guests on to hear both sides of the issues. Jim, when Romney was Governor in Massachusetts he instituted the " Romneycare " Healthcare program for all state residents and he bragged about how great it was and is." Obamacare " is the exact same Healthcare Program designed by the same M.I.T. Economist, but of course now Romney says its bad. I smell a hypocrite. By Jim Angle Published August 22, 2012 FoxNews.com" http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/08/22/obama-campaign-attacks-ryan-medicare-plan-early-frequently/ Seems Jim Angle disagrees with you and takes apart Obamacare while seeing something in the plan from Ryand and supported by Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon. Wyden has seen Obamacare as a problem. These two are trying to work on a solution while Obama is causing a bigger problem. I would suggest you read the entire article. Sorry this is from Fox news as I am not a big fan of it but it was refenced on the financial page of Yahoo. Posted by JimR45 |

Interesting articles in the Washington Post. Does Medicare Advantage Cost Less? OR Does It Cost More? Washington Post 08/22/2012 and another Robert Samuelson Opinion Piece in the Washington Post a few days earlier - referencing the same research. Washington Post 08/19/2012 Robert Samuelson Opinion: "Why Ryan might be right about Medicare" Medicare covers a number of non-medicine programs - It covers most graduate medical education in the United States and sends supplemental payments to hospitals that see more uninsured patients. So WHY do these things come out of the Medicare program money? It seems to me that they have more to do with the common good rather than ONLY Medicare.

Response to Re: THE LIES--DISTORTED INFORMATION ABOUT OBAMACARE : Posted by mandm84 Personally I do not watch Fox news, and in fact I spend more time listening to a news broadcast which is very liberal but watch because I consider their coverage better, but not their political views. Even CBO has been making changes in their estimates over time and the picture and trend is on of getting worse. Rather than I trying to analyze the trend myself here is an analysis that has been done of the CBO reports. "Earlier this week, the Congressional Budget Office released its revised estimates of what Obamacare will cost, now that the Supreme Court has weighed in. As I read the report, it occurred to me to ask: how have the CBO’s estimates changed over time? It turns out that, even when you compare the years that are common to each CBO report, a clear trend emerges. Today, the CBO believes that Obamacare will spend more money, raise more tax revenue, and reduce the deficit less than the agency thought in 2010. And things could get worse." http://www.forbes.com/sites/aroy/2012/07/27/cbo-obamacare-will-spend-more-tax-more-and-reduce-the-deficit-less-than-we-previously-thought/ Not a favorable outlook for the thievery of the Obamacare program. Obama is not very good as an economist but he is good about buying votes of the foolish who thinks nobody pays for a free lunch. |
