Right here on AARP at http://www.aarp.org/health/medicare-insurance/info-11-2009/part_3_the_doughnut_hole.html, it states that brand name drugs are to be at a 50% discount during the donut hole in 2011 with 100% credit allowed so that you still get out of the donut hole as if you had paid the full 100% price. I am in a fight with AARP Medicare Complete regarding this as they say there is no 100% credit and therefore it is taking me twice as long to get out of the donut hole as it did last year. Normally, I am out of the donut hole by September, but this year, I am still in the donut hole. Actually, this is for my wife as she takes a lot of meds, some of which are not available in generic form. Has anyone else run into this and do you have a resolution for this? |

Posted by ddinham I read it too. From your AARP link:
http://www.aarp.org/health/medicare-insurance/info-01-2011/ask_ms_medicare_question_92.2.html This whole article might be beneficial in answering your question since I don't know all of your particular circumstances. |

Posted by ddinham $569 / person The amount Medicare recipients have saved on prescription drugs thanks to the Affordable Care Act. BUT regardless of the attempts the democrats have made to reform healthcare under the objection of the republicans who didn't even want to discuss it in the begining..........We STILL only have the best healthcare in the world depending who you are. Thank you republicans for your privitization priorities that want insurance companies to make profits off of healthcare and still don't believe everyone has a right to be healthy. No one in DC wants to pay more for our elderly population. But this country will have a national health-care system, and sooner than later. The cost pressures make that inevitable. But it will be COST that will do it. The plain fact is some like the owner of the Whole Foods Corporation who has publically declared healthcare is not a "right" ..... not deliberately saying so in the sense that they want folks to die, but wilfully in the sense that they prefer their death to their own inconvenience. If you're very sick and not very wealthy in America, your best move may be to just flee the country. Otherwise, expect to pay through the nose and possibly wind up deep in debt.
