In Response to Gallstones :-|: Just been diagnosed with gallstones (55 yr old female). My doctor referred me to a surgeon. The surgeon said dissolving stones won’t work and he tells me that removing my gallbladder is the only thing that can be done. I really don’t want the surgery, however, my husband and my doctor thinks that I should follow the recommendation of the surgeon. Don’t know any one that has ever had gallstones or had their gallbladder removed. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject and would like to share, please do so. Posted by ednbev Hi, ednbev : I didn't have gallstones, but an 'inflamed' gallbladder. It had to come out ( so the dr. said) I hesitated, asked about possible after-effects. I'd heard some have chronic diahrrea, other problems. These being 'rare' they said. I had the gallbladder removed about 2 years ago. I see no difference at all in my health, except no more stomach pain like I had before surgery. Whatever you decide, let us know here, & Good Luck ! |
