I am 61 and female. My GP found blood in my urine and ordered a IVP. When he got the results he said he was referring me to a urologist. Anyone have any experience with this and what may be wrong?

I am 61 and female. My GP found blood in my urine and ordered a IVP. When he got the results he said he was referring me to a urologist. Anyone have any experience with this and what may be wrong? |

my aunt once "p* with blood" -it was one-time event, like 20 year ago and she is well! it depends on how much (traces or visible) how long, do you have any sensations etc dr has no idea what it is (if more than just a broken blood vessel) so wants you to see specialist |

Your Urologist may suggest a cystoscopy. If you were a 78 year old male, as am I, they may locate bladder tumors that, hopefully can be removed with TURB.
