Unfortunatley, it seems like there is always a disaster somewhere in this world.  So there is always a need for volunteers and donations to help those in need. Fortunately, you can help! Check out http://www.relief.org/volunteer for more informatoin on ways you can provide relief to those suffering!

The Springfield Summit of Hope Committee and the Springfield Urban League are inviting those with a zeal and heart of gold to join us in providing a wide range of services to people on probation or parole. Through a community expo of services and support we are able to supply and encourage those re-entering society with the tools and resources they need to become responsible, contributing members of the larger community.

When we volunteer for just a few hours, on this one day, each year, we give a priceless gift - our time, and we make a profound difference, empowering others to do the same. Remember the date Saturday May 4th, 2013. Plan on attending at least one Volunteer meeting and completing a registration sheet.

if you live or play in the Springfield Il area, please reach out to the Summit of Hope:

"Give Hope to those, who have lost Hope'.

Contact Springfield Urban League, Health Initiatives Resource Center
217-522-0407 ext 1457 or 1451.
Thank you.

If you live in Pierce County Washington State I have the volunteer opportunity for you.

Catholic Community Services-Volunteer Chore Service Program is seeking volunteer drivers to drive low income seniors and people with disabilities to necessary medical appointments and grocery shopping.  You use your own vehicle and we reimburse you mileage and excess auto liability insurance. You set your own schedule and we give you plenty of notice. Come join a great volunteer team. Check us out at www.ccsww.org or you can call at 253-502-2741.

It's non-negotiable.  We are all going to experience death at some point.  What an opportunity to be a part
of someones last days on this earth.  As a Hospice volunteer you can help make a difference in a multitude
of ways.  Give it some thought - pray about it - then give us a call.  We would love to have you join our team.

RSVP is currently looking for volunteers, 55 and older, to serve as van drivers for the RSVP van transportation and office helpers for some not-for-profits in the community.  Transportation is provided for RSVP volunteers who can no longer drive but still volunteer, to and from their work station.  To serve as a van driver, you must have a valid Missouri driver’s license and a clean driving record.  As a regular driver, you commit to one day per week for 2 to 6 hours depending on the route.  Substitutes are needed to be on call.  Training is provided for both positions.RSVP provides volunteers to certain not-for-profit agencies needing office help or help with bulk mailing.  For more information about these two volunteer opportunities, please call RSVP at 417-862-3595.   RSVP is an agency of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks.

2 things:
1. read stories to 1st and 2nd graders, they love it and so do the teachers. The kids will remember you their whole life.
2. Get a picker up stick and clean up your neighbohood of trash on your walks. Can turn in the bottles and cans you get for money and donate to your neigborhood school's Green Team

You can help prevent deaths from starvation for free by going to thehungersite.com and electing to have an email reminder sent to you each day to click to give food. The food is donated by major companies. Of course the companies hope that you might click on their advertisements but it is not necessary. I have been clicking every day for approximately 10 years. The bona fides of this website have been verified and you can confirm this on the website by clicking on any of the verification organizations (all of which are well known and reputable). Mickey
